Post RF CD changer with 10 second memory ?

I want to add a cd changer. I'm undecided if I'll install in the trunk or under the passenger seat of my impreza. Does anybody know of a cd changer with rf modulator and 10 second memory?
The only changers I've seen with 10 second memory don't have rf , can anybody help me out ?
Thank you very much

Don't you want the CD benefit of higher sound quality? Getting a RF modulated CD changer defeats the purpose of CD's in the first place.

Chad - The reason you get a RF modulated changer is that it works with the stock stereo. If somebody wants to listen to CDs without swapping them, it makes great sense. It may not be as clear as buying a new cd deck, but it's cheaper and it maintains (mostly) the stock appearance to the car. Radio personalities annoy me. If I can't listen to my music on the radio, sans idiot DJ, then a RF changer is perfect.

That said.

What changers have you found? I believe as long as the manufacturer of the changer also makes RF interfaces, you can do it. I think the RF & CD manufacturers need to be the same so they can talk to eachother.

Horatio-I understand the benefits, I just don't understand the waste of money, but-

Unless you're driving a Wrangler or a lowrider, you shouldn't need the skip protection. A quality CD changer is not going to lose its track unless your CD is trashed. I personally like Alpines RF changers. Last time I checked, they made it in a 6 or 12 disc form.

Thanks for your input. Perhaps its my aggressive driving sytle but I think I need the 10 second protection. I've been using my portable cd for the past few weeks and if the batters are low the 10 sec feature doesn't kick in and it skips with the cd player laying on the passenger seat. If I use the 12v adapter, it doesn't skip at all.
I looked at Sony but the only changers with 10 sec are the ES line but the Sony changer with the integrated rf don't have it.

Chad - You and me both.

goodday - Oh. Um. Yeah. CD Changers are made to be mounted in cars. Disk men are made to be placed on tables. With the anti-skip they are ok for portables. Just sitting on the seat or floor of your car it moves around too much for a Diskman. A car CD changer is designed with a fair amount of punishment in mind. I've got an Eclipse changer and it has never skipped on me. I've got a 12" sub running 500+ watts bolted to it. If that's not vibration I don't know what is. Of course on gravel roads when I'm doing 50, 60, 70+mph I've got the radio turned off. I honestly don't think you need that anti-skip unless you're going to be hard-core wheeling your car while listening to the CD.

I agree with Horatio. Electronic skip protection is not needed in a CD changer meant to be put in a car. I recently had the chance to take an older Alpine apart (had CD's stuck in it) and the suspension is the most complex part of the whole system. It's actually pretty sweet. As long as it is securly bolted to something(even your 12" sub:lol, it will be fine in the car.

Thanks again .. final question before I go shopping this weekend ...
I'm quite pleased with the sound of the portable cd through the cassette adapter.
Would you expect a better sound from the rf modulator or the cassette adapter?
Thanks

I don't have the specs in front of me, but you theoretically get a wider frequency range out of the cassette player, but I personally think with the RF's lack of "noise" it sounds better than a cassette adaptor. That could just be my opinion, but I HATE HATE HATE the whine and noise of a cassette player, and hate it even more with Dolby NR. Your changer will be an improvement.

Oh. You should maybe take a look at decks at the same time. Get a changer that will work with whatever decks you like the most. That way when you (hehe, not if) decide to pop for a new deck, you can most likely get rid of the RF and wire it in.
