$0 deductible - $770

I didn't enquire about other pricing, but needless to say I'm expecting Grand Subaru to beat those prices or I'll buy my warranty through ROTO.

If you want to get a decent deal, do what I did and call up a different dealer from your own and get pricing on the warranty you're interested in. They have more incentive to lower their prices to earn your business. Then you can take those numbers back to your dealer and work out a deal knowing what you can get elsewhere.
that's pretty cheap, btw, is it gold plus extended? there are two kinds of extended warranty, one that cover almost similar to bumper top bumper (gold plus) and one that cover some stuff..(classic)

you can buy warranty anytime before your 3yr/36000 bumper to bumper warranty ends

i got sucked into the 6 yr/100k gold plus includes road hazard tire policy, and a 3 yr/36k scheduled service prepaid for $2900 total. I felt like a bozo for getting sucked in. Just went back and canceled it today. Doesn't change my payment but just lowers the principal owed.

Just picked up my car on Tuesday! I'm one of you now!

2013 Impreza Sport Limited Hatchback in Dark Gray Metallic with Moonfoor + Navi, Auto Dimming Mirror and rear seatback protectors.

FWIW - I ordered my car on September 20th and in early November was quoted a delivery date of "Month of December". Apparently I'm one of the lucky ones to get it early. My dealer said if I would've ordered 2 weeks later, my delivery time would be quoted as 4 months minimum. Apparently Subaru had a rush of orders in late September/early October and is still way behind.

lets hope this does delay any of the arriving shipments.

Allocation limits make sense for cars heading to the lot, but not for cars with a down payment.
dealer allocation is a common practice among all manufacturers....basically a dealer is alloted so many cars a month, based on previous sales yearly volume. The dealer can either special order for a customer or simply order for dealer stock, however both go against their monthly allocations. Normally dealers should know their allocations quarterly....at least GM use to work that way....the sales manager at each location should be able to tell a customer how many allocations he has and how many orders he has against them.....

Once the orders go into the cue..they are filled until that dealership's monthly allocation is filled, then then the orders are place in the que based on when they were received...the dealership should be able to prioritize their orders monthly....customer vs stock orders. Once the order has been "accepted" by the manufacturer, its counted against the allocation, then the next step is VIN assignment and build....

If there are other shortages....ie parts or high demand, then this also complicates the picture...so basically if you order the same car at the same time from a high volume subie dealer vice a low volume one...your wait times can be drastically different dependent on orders received at the respective dealerships...

hope this helps......was fortunate enough to get mine mid Dec last year after ordering it the first week in Nov.....one year and 26K later love the car....

What you say makes sense. My question, if someone negotiated a very good price on an order, and if the dealer can prioritize their orders each month when they are given a new allotment, then why would they want to put an order high on the list that makes them less money, than other orders and definitely than retail stock that are making them more money?

I assume it's gold plus extended because I was quoted for a plan with no deductible. I do not believe that the 'classic' warranties have no deductible.

I'll be sure to get more specifics when I go to pick up my car and the warranty.

From my experience I'd expect you to get your vin within 1-3 weeks, and your car shortly after. I'd say you'll probably have it before Christmas. Hang in there if you can. I was VERY frustrated as well, and my persistence has paid off. I kept contacting the dealer, and/or SoA pretty much daily until I got a vin. In the meantime I also got SoA to agree to give me a $500 credit. I'd see if they can swing the same for you. It may not be worth it for everyone to put up with the wait on an order, but that is the current reality of ALL custom ordered Subarus right now.

Good luck to all still waiting!
I am going on almost 12 weeks and still have not received the VIN.

I have inquired about the $500 of accessories and Subaru has not committed to anything. When I asked about it they said:

"When you take delivery of your WRX, we can certainly discuss offering you a goodwill gesture for the amount of time that it took to deliver your WRX to your dealer. We do not make such offers until the vehicle is purchased in order to know the full extent of the delivery time frame. We will make you some offer though"

I didn't order a WRX, but that is beside the point.

The problem is they can't even tell me if it is going to come in December. If it isn't going to come in December I need to buy a different car. I am driving a 94 Camaro (ha ha) since I sold my STI and I live in Utah. Obviously RWD and snow don't mix. I feel like I am in a pickle because by the time I get a different car will my Impreza have been delivered?

I feel bad about whining on the internet, but I don't feel like Subaru or my dealer is really helping out.

hey blueimp,
I was treated the same exact way when I contacted SOA ditto for the yeah we aren't giving you crap for having to wait eventhough it was our fault. SDC which controls my lovely area however was a lot better in handlng the situation as was my dealer. The ppl at SOA seem to not know how to do their jobs, based on the person you get, they may or may not even know how to look up a von. I kept in contact with my salesman and had him check with sales manager for status updates and etc and also let them the dealership know that you would like to be compensated in some way for the time since SOA is being their usual unhelpful selves. Customer support at SOA sucks, period. Unfortunately you just gotta keep checking weekly because they seem to purposely make the system difficult for all.

From what I hear Subaru makes/ships most of their cars out from the factory on a quarter year basis, would have had to wait 3 months for my car if I ordered, just built it on the lot instead.

Good luck to all those waiting. After 4 months of waiting with nothing but my order on "hold" I'm done waiting. Canceled my order and I will be getting a 2014 Mazda 6. I loved how the CX-5 was as far as drive ability is concerned. But it was too big and I wanted better mpg. The 6 will get me more mpg and a 6 speed manual trans only bummer is having to lose awd for fwd. but I've never owned awd that was going to be my first lol. So I will throw on some snow tires and do what I usually do

Again good luck. I'm going to enjoy my new car when I get it lol.

That's funny. I wanted a speed6 before I decided on the impreza. I'm in the reverse situation now. My car is sitting at the dealer along with another one that I'm sure some of you would want. I can't go get it until I get this other issue taken care of.

Hope you like your new Mazda!

They can't tell you when it will get there becuase they Don't Know. Same story for me a year ago. When it gets loaded on the transporter, then they know...

This was my experience as well. I knew nothing from 8/8/12 until 10/17/12 when I received a vin, seemingly out of nowhere. I was also quoted an arrival date of 11/26. My vehicle arrived a week early on 11/19 or 11/20. I'm not completely sure, but it doesn't matter because I can't pick it up yet.

Patience is a virtue with Subaru right now until they can match demand and begin to produce orders within a more reasonable timeframe. This WILL aggravate many and Subaru will lose customers. I am not defending them by any means, rather stating the reality of ordering ANY Subaru vehicle right now.

I'm going to get the 2.5 189hp/189tq is good for me. I'm guessing from what I hear mpg should be 27 city/37 hwy. I will find out sooner than later. I'm already on a waiting list for January. Going for Jet Black Mica with black interior. Love the Mazda 6 interior, nice quality and this new 3rd gen looks sweet. Looking forward to it. Enjoy your imprezas!

So the '14 Mazda 6 will be out already in January? That's cool. I owned a '07 MazdaSpeed 6 GT and absolutely loved that car! Had to get rid of it when I got laid off unfortunately... Hopefully the rumors of another Speed 6 and a 6 coupe are true!

Also can't wait to see the redesigned Mazda 3! Should be a nice car and something I'd consider trading my Subie for...

Yup the Mazda 6 will be on dealers lots in January if you go to Mazda's website it even tells you that you call call your dealer to reserve one. Which just keeps you on the list for the kind of 6 you are looking for (Color, Auto/MT, ect).

A MS6 awd coupe would be awesome! Or even a redesigned MS3 would be great! (Not a fan of the smiley face gen). For me a Mazda 6 with good mpg and a 4dr is more practical for me and what I need. Thankfully even in the non turbo cars Mazda still gives the driver a pleasant and engaging drive!

In the future I might have to pick up a 2nd Mazda, if the next MS3 turns out great. Most likely a new MS3 gen would happen about 2015 if I were to guess. Cuz the Mazda 3 is going to get redesigned late 2013/ early 2014. My guess is that this next gen will have the "Kodo" design which looks awesome! So instead of having my first subie I'm going to have my first Mazda, lol. Came from domestic cars, and after owning a few toyotas, nissans, hondas and other Japanese cars I doubt I will go back to domestic until they seriously up there game.

Now I play the waiting game until more concrete info comes out (MPG, Trims, ect).

Yeah thanks, strangely enough even if I have to wait some I'm okay with it. Not to mention I would most likely still be waiting on my Impreza anyway, lol. The Mazda 6 feels overall like a better choice for me. This long wait has just given me more opportunity to look at other cars and what else could and would be an option for me. 4 months ago the Impreza was the only option I liked. Right now, not so much! The other reason I decided that fwd would be sufficient was when my gf and I decided that we will be moving to a warmer climate in the next couple years. So I figured awd would be less useful.

The redesigned forester looks great from what I've seen. Good luck getting your Subaru sooner than later I will be curious to see how long the wait time is for the person who is waiting like me and there order is "on hold".

I'm still in the "northern states"! MaxCarnage may be gone, but you still got me!

Technically I am still waiting to pick up my car. I'm no longer waiting for delivery, but waiting on something else non-Subaru related to go through before I purchase. I just can't win. The irony is overwhelming. I can't buy the car when it's not at the dealer, and now that it is there I still can't buy it yet!
