I still forget about it once in awhile. I'm working/eating/chilling/etc. and I'm like "****, I got a new car coming in"

Then I'm like "I don't know when"

Ordered WRX 5-door Limited Obsidian Black, 4-weeks ago. I'm in L.A. No word yet but the VON. Going stir-crazy here, want way more "options" then I already ordered. Will be my first Subaru, owned Honda-Civic, Hyundai-Tiburon GT can't wait.

Just a random question. did not know what section i should of put this in but I bought a 2011 subaru wrx limited about two years ago. My first mod was a factory SPT short throw shifter with bushings installed during my first oil change. Later on, I have bought a kartboy short shifter with bushings and had it installed with the SPT short throw shifter already installed in it. My question is, is it alright to leave it like that? or should I replace back the SPT short throw shifter with the stock version and keep the kartboy short shfiter?

1) This should probably go in the Newbies & FAQs section, and searching for some ss talk first will probably answer your question.

2) I'm not really sure what your question is. The way it's written, it sounds like you think you're running two shifters, and I can promise you that you aren't. Pick one, sell two.

Guys just do what I'm doing to make the time go by somewhat faster! Every week (paycheck) I've been ordering at least 1 or 2 parts for the car. And it hasn't even felt like 2 months! Plus you get parts for your new car !

I'm at week 11 with no update or vin. My original era was April but I was told to "ignore that" by the dealer. I'm kind of pissed they said that.

Yeah I've been doing that. I have a huge pile of parts now ready to be installed when the car gets here.

White certainly appears to be the most popular color.

I did that last night. Picked up a set of BBS wheels and tires for my STI. Now I have my summer rims for my car and all I need to buy is winter tires for my Enkei's come next winter after I get the car. I don't think I'll be spending any more money on the car until it's actually mine. lol Since I plan on tinting the windows within a week after I get the car. Gotta sell more SRT4 parts that I have laying around since it's STI part money now.

Just found out the salesperson that sold me my car, as well as the sales manager left the dealership I ordered it from. Really hoping this isn't bad news... ugh

As long as you have your Von it shouldn't really be relevant. Nothing they can do to speed up the process at all anyways. With that being said I'd contact them and be sure they take care of you communication wise. Hopefully you got your otd price in writing ?

If I buy a 13 before the end of the month at the deadline I might do my deposit over the phone.

I was wondering about email quotes and paying the deposit over the phone.

I guess an official dealer email receipt showing the agreed price and proof of deposit should be good enough to act as a actual order contract?

Yea, already called and got a new sales person the keep communicating with. I do have the quote in writing, and I talked to the original sales guy now that he's gone. Basically said I got the best deal I could have at that dealership. Haven't gone back through this entire thread to see how it compares, but think I did alright.

My dealer said the same thing. "Best deal I have ever seen anyone get on a STI."

I wonder if that phrase is in the Subaru dealer handbook?!?

Joking of course. As long as you're happy and can afford the payments, congrats! Now sit back and relax and wait...and wait...and wait some more.

Hahaha... very true. I figured it may have been. Little more reliable since he no longer worked for Subaru. Maybe I'll dig through the thread tonight to see, unless there's a general scale that's regarded as great/good/meh/you got played :-) also, little harder to compare w/ option choices.

If you got it for invoice you did good. If you got it for under invoice you did great

Generally, anything below invoice is a good price, but many factors could cause you to pay more (size of dealership, amount of available inventory, etc.). Check out Truecar.com and you'll have a ballpark figure.

Reading through this thread to justify your price will only cause you heartache. Just be happy with what you paid. Trust me, I did the same thing.

Yea, I checked Truecar prior to buying. They don't have dealer-installed options available to select (like the front lip), but without including that, I got under the Truecar price. Based on dealer-given numbers, it was 3% under invoice, but I didn't quite trust those 100%.

Guess I won't waste time searching through this thread then, plenty of others to read :-)
