2.2L cam gears and 2.5L cam gears
So here's the deal, my buddy has an '01 2.5rs and he ran it off the road blah blah blah.. I dont think he's tellin me everything but anyways, the timing jumped and the RH cam gear shattered. Supposedly a guy "scoped" it and said the valves were still good.. Not too sure how he can justify that. So I put a new timing kit on it, along with a cam gear from a '99 2.2L engine. Are the cam gears from the '99 2.2L motor the same as the one from the '01 2.5L motor? Both SOHC motors. I put it all together and the RH side of the motor has about 25psi compression. LH side of the motor has about 190psi. I was thinking either the motor is junk and just needs to be replaced or the cam gear is wrong. Can anyone help me out?
