Question N/A then Supercharge later?

I was considering getting a MY00 Impreza RS, but when I found out about the MY01 turbo version, I decided to wait. As I found spy pics and found rumors of upper 20s and low 30s for the Turbo version... I realized it wasn't for me.
So, I decided that I still would like a MY00 RS, but would like to stay with N/A performance (Intake, exhaust, chip, etc..) and once out of warranty... maybe a performance rebuild with a supercharger added to the mix. My goal is not a race car or a street racer... or even to get into the 12's... maybe upper 13s (or better yet, a nice seat of the pants fun) would be sufficient. I presently drive a Dodge Intrepid 3.5L and 'am fairly pleased with it's power (only 214hp). It's fun for a bigger car. I figure 240hb for a Subie would probably be perfect.
I'm not really interested in the heady cost of a turbo with all it's plumbing, but a supercharge may be a thought... Any Pros/Cons to my thoughts?
