Between driving a stock STI clutch and an XT pressure plate. I would guess the pedal feel is 100 to 150% heavier than stock

I have a compustar pro alarm with autostart so car is usually warm by the time I get in I had a 6 puck before. 3 discs later and I'm on a ss disc now. The act 6 pucks don't last too long when you have street miles in the mix. |

I'm about to learn, my 6 puck is daily driven about 300 miles a week mostly city. I'm hoping at least 9000 miles out of it.
If not, I might try the Xtss then. How is it launching? I would be worried about slipping at a full race launch |

Launching on the ss disc you notice right away it doesn't grab like the 6 puck. It will slip a bit more but it can still spin the tires. A trade off I can live with since I rather be able to get more life out of it and be easier to drive on the street. |

Well looks like its going to be the next clutch I try. I can deal with the fast engagement of my 6 puck. It's the stiff pedal I hate which is why I went with the clutch masters.

I am excited to monitor the status of the Benson sleeves, considering I have been getting away with 25-30+ psi I know it is only a matter of time until the stock engine gives up and with a sleeved block I will get greedy and want to see some high boost.
Any plans to tune for a high boost map 35-40psi on VP or E85? |

So I'm excited to say I saw the full race kit pricing has come down a LOT. And my dream of getting one is a lot closer. Ordering it ewgless and I'm going to have custom side exit ewg's made like I showed u before
I'm looking at a s200 but in t4 twin scroll, don't need more than 400whp @20psi on pump gas 93 octane. Want good spool and power to redline. Might get a bullseye batmowheel billet compressor wheel. I don't get how/why these journal bearing turbos spool so fast compared to a Bb turbo of the same size. How's transient response compared to a bb turbo of the same size? T say the least I'm going to be excited when it happens. |

Looking for a new BBK, been talking to Ken at KNS Brakes... still deciding what to do.
New Brembo Club Racing Kit that recently came out. MSRP around $3,900. 4 piston caliper. 350x34mm rotor. I like the 34mm thick rotor. Kit is almost like the 6 piston kit LIC Motorsports and Race Technologies put together. I'm not 100% on the pad thickness but it may be 25mm? Not many details on this yet so I don't know how much pad costs will be or rotor replacements. http://i.imgur.com/hKPlmma.jpg Of course another option I was looking at is the Stoptech 6 piston Trophy Kit. Retail is around the same price at $3,900 but you can find them for around $3,000 new. Pads are quite expensive for the ST60. Like $400 for a set of race pads. Rotors are OK at around ~$230 a piece. http://i.imgur.com/bTnQCky.jpg Hopefully will be able to get some details on the new Brembo kit soon. Last edited by alcoolaid; 12-21-2013 at 12:07 AM. |

My vote is for the brembos or ap racing kit.
I will be running the ap racing kit vs stock brembos because it is cheaper to run a lot of track days. |

I will go for the brembo's if the pads are cheaper than the stoptech calipers. |

I like the ap kit because you can also fit 16s on em for the winter. I like small wheels in winter. |

3 big braking points at PR in my mind that murders the brakes. Car has a lot of power so I can pick up a lot of speed in a short distance. Main straight 140 -> 80 then around a long sweeper back up to like 110 then back down to 50 around 2 slow speed corners that are close together then back up to 120 and back down to 70 (still only like 2/3 around the course). Ken @ KNS said he's running about the same setup on his C5 (im assuming around the same weight and power) and he said he goes through a set of pads in a weekend. That's pretty hurt for 20mm thick pads. The AP racing rotors are pretty good though. Stoptech rotors not too good I heard. The rotors in the new brembo kit take a crazy amount of abuse and hold up really good. Not to mention the pads on the kit are massive. If they do turn out to be 25mm thick I'll be sold. |

Out of randomness I decided to hook up the fuel temp sensor to the vipec since I still have one temperature input left. Looks like a rats nest but it's all labelled. Looks messy because at the time of putting it all together (3+ years ago), there were only a coupe of people in north america running this ecu on a subaru. Not to mention some of the wiring diagrams were not correct so there was a lot of troubleshooting.
Anyways... here it is, all hooked up. http://i.imgur.com/aKYM2tB.jpg Look at all the temperature differences. Car has been sitting for about 6 hours since I drove it. http://i.imgur.com/cENfwsu.jpg Haven't had time to test it out but we'll see how it reacts while driving with an almost empty tank of gas and a full tank of gas. Lol project mu, more like pee you. Crap brakes.
Anyway thats interesting. As my local track (road america elkhart lake wisconsin) is a known brake killer. Main straight cars can easily touch 180 down to like what, 40? 50? Into turn 1. Might have to rethink my decision/plan then. It would have to be ap racing or brembo for sure. The moat attractive part about the ap kit is still the initial price and price of pads and rotors. But if I even fade those in like 2 seconds theres no point |

What about Alcon?
I was considering Alcon, AP, Brembo and Stoptech. However I ended up ordering the Stoptechs because of performance, availability, and price. I did want Alcons with TI pistons real bad thow. |
