fuel smell coming from engine
Hay Guys
I have an 02 WRX wagon. Noticed a strong fuel smell coming from my engine today. No visible leaks, smell is strongest on passenger side of engine. Did a search on the forms, seems there is some sort of recall for fuel lines under the intake manifold. Has anyone had this work done? Who pays for it? any more info? Thanks

I was mostly wondering if anybody local has had the repair done by the dealer, and did they cover the cost of doing it?

he understands what the problem is . . He is now simply asking where "locally" he can get it fixed and how much it will cost as well as who will cover the cost |

Stealers cost from 400-$600.
Smell most likely coming from 2 small rubber fuel line under turbo inlet. the clamps from the fuel line are not tight. either tighten them or buy new ones. i did mine myself, if decide to do it. buy a after market turbo inlet (Samco Perrin etc...) coz the nipples from the oem inlet will break-off. DIY & save yourself some money. Do a search on how to remove turbo inlet, alot in this forum. Take your time if you decide to do it yourself & mark everything that you disconnect. BTW..i did not remove my intake manifold. GL Hopia |
