EJ22 vs EZ30r vs EJ257
I want to beef up my 97 impreza L with 06 sti tranny with dccd. My quest is for 350WHP. But the catch is I want to make it last 200,000 mile on pump gas. Maybe have a tune for those 6 times a year I actually have time to go to the track. If that means Building it and just running it 70% of what it's capable of then so but it.(not sure if that's nessesarly going to make it last longer.) Right now I'm leaning towards the ej257 as I already have experience with it but I want to see your guys advice and opinion. Also if emmessions is going to be a pain I'll just get a 92 L and with until it's 25 years old. My budget is $20k but really $30k in case things go wrong.(this is also posted on the build forum. I want to get different perspectives and expose it to different knowledged people.)

Not sure if serious Your budget is 20-30k? Why not just save up an extra 4k and buy a brand new base STI for 34k?

I just like making older cars as fast as newer ones. I got a Decent amount of free time on base so things like this keep me busy.

I think a V7 EJ207 would be good for 350whp for a long time. You couldn't really guarantee anything to last 200k miles though. I'd go for an S203 front clip if that was my budget I guess.

Forgive me for the ignorance but I thought the EJ257 blocks were stronger
