If I were to have seen your S4 on the street I would have guessed it was an A4 Ultrasport (minus the rims). I prefer the Ultrasport styling, anyway. I love the color. I had a Pearl White B5 S4. It's a shame Audi stopped producing that color

Hey Donnie,

That was almost my thought with the car when I changed it. I wanted something super clean. The side skirts, mirrors and badges were all taken off and either color matched or removed. Also, having the pearl made such a huge difference in the look over the flat Alpine white.

Cheers mate!!

Hey Man, you're the reason I'm doing this! I've been folowing your updates for a while and I love that you like to give back to the community as much as I do. I have done threads like this for other hobbies of mine but when I came across yours, I decided to put all my eggs in one basket and make an easy thread and links to all my modifications and installs.

Cheers to you!!

I too have a v8 S4

I look forward to this thread. You have a clean modding style. It was hard for me to go from euro to a suby, as things like closing the door, trunk & hood were not nearly as sound or solid.

Man, do I hear you on that... I sold my S with 190,000mi on it and it has less noises than I had in my Subie leaving the dealership

I have to say though, I'm having so much more fun with this car!!

That's great to hear. I'm sure your threads will help a lot of people out. I know that when I am trying to do research and decide on parts, I find that well illustrated and well written posts by actual users to be very helpful. I often find that if the person is not an expert, or is installing for the first time it is the most useful. Your photos and walk through's so far have been excellent. I like looking at the pictures even if it's not something I'm interested in doing!

How's the prosport gauges doing? I've read a couple threads on here about the oil pressure gauge failing and the sender failing also. Your DIY threads are absolutely amazing and the pictures are great! About to order the prosport gauges but after reading some of the thread of it failing I'm a little worried.

The gauges are doing very well. If there is something to say about them it would be:
They are a little noisy, upon startup when they do the opening ceremony you hear the motors winding and the same when you shut them down.
The oil pressure seems to be fine. It does jump around a bit but it measures accurately.
Lastly is, they are an inexpensive gauge compared to the Defi so if you tap the housings, they sound and feel inexpensive. I'm using the pod, cup and visor so I have the full "plastic" package going.

Honestly, If I had to do it again I would still buy them. I'm telling you only my complaints but for all three gauges to be around $300, I really think they are good gauges and a great deal. If I had the extra $, yes I would buy the Defi but they are crazy expensive and for what I use them for, they are perfect!!

Hope that helps!!

haha no problem. One quick question. I just ordered the prosport gauges. The same ones you got I believe, the prosport premium gauges with the white needle. Now my question is, it looks like you used the sensor under the alternator for your oil pressure gauge correct? I've seen thread and pics on here that show the sender for the gauge being really huge and not being able to fit under the alternator. But in your pic it looks small with just a plug. I'm confused on which one they actually come with lol.

Hey Cliff, welcome to the ProSport Club!
The oil pressure sender will definitely be the smaller one, no worries. There will plenty of room under the alternator.

Here is the stock compared to the ProSport.

Let me know if you run into any problems, be glad to help out!
