Default Who has the JDM EJ20 Swapped in their L?

I was sifting through threads about a month ago when I saw a user who had something about a JDM EJ20 turbo motor swappend into their GC8 L in their car description field. I don't remember who it was but I would very much like to get in touch with them.

This is a swap that I have been researching for 2 years and would love the chance to meet up with someone who has done it. Actually there is an EJ20 Turbo motor that I would like to buy within a week. However I would like to find the person who has done the swap and talk it over with them extensively before making the purchase.

Thanks
Brad

Joel Gat (Gary Sheehan's mechanic) is currently doing this swap in his L. He also did an AWD conversion.

Is your's a STi motor? what tranny do you have? did you make it look like an RS? cause that annointed guy did, and I must say I'd like the sleeper like better. but i can settle with a EJ25-T...

You coming out to any meets? I really want to see your car to believe it..

Na mines a not an STi its from a Legacy turbo. Its a good starting point. I'm using my stock tranny still, but i have the new one sitting in the garage. No external mods (except for Rotas) yet... hey here is an idea! ill trade bumper/spoiler/grille/headlights/hood with you so we will both be happy??

Hello,

rhdude, my '95 weighs about 2550 in its normal driving trim (i.e., I went to the hardware store and jumped onto the scales). So it's about 250-300 pounds less than the '98-01 RS, and even more lighter than the new cars.

Thanks for all the replies.

(-ImportInvasion-) - I think it was your profile I originally saw. I am very interested in a parts list moreover. Also whatever unexpected tricks you had to perform or pieces you needed to move in order to get the EJ20 to fit. The engine I am looking at getting will most likely be an older closed deck Legacy turbo motor with the silver water/air intercooler. Included with this would be the engine (all accessories included), 5spd tranny, ECU w\ harness. I'm not sure if the front crossmember comes with it or not.

One of my main questions is whether the stock JDM ECU is sufficient for running this engine in the us with our fuel and such.

Thanks
Brad
