After doing all the reading and research in this forum, finally make a purchase.
2012 Sport Limited DMG CVT + Remote Starter + Body Side Molding After 2% VIP discount of invoiced price, and some bargain power(end of the month), final price is $22,222 + tax. I think the price is good, below invoiced and it's worth to shop around and getting into the VIP discount program. Just hope I can get the car ASAP.

From what they told me, Costco waits for Subaru of America to contact them telling them about the purchase. I'm guessing that's through some VIN Database?

we'll see how it goes. i've been a longtime costco member and the only reason why i didn't use their program was i had talked with a friend who recently bought a subaru and the costc oprenegotiated price was only fair, but not as low as they could easily negotiate themselves. anyway, minimal effort. i put my dealer and salesperson name down. if all they are looking for is a real VIN for a sold vehicle, then i'm set. if they really need to confirm that it was a subaru purchased under their program, then, i probably won't hear from them. no worries. thanks for the tip. |

I fell in love with a 2012 pre-production model on display
It was the first and only SKY BLUE model I've seen... and I absolutely loved it.
I went in to purchase a "dark cherry" & then I saw that PZEV Limited with Moonroof- and I was "hooked". I've spent hours on line trying to find something similar- I'll take a sedan or wagon- as long as it has the moonroof (& would like navigation). Any chance that Subaru would agree to sell a pre-production (build date 4/11)- & if so- would I be asking for trouble by doing so???? |

Bought and picked up my new Deep Cherry Pearl Impreza 2.0i Premium 5-door last week. CVT, PZEV, All Weather Package, 17" Alloys, Moonroof, rubber & carpet floor mats, cargo net, splash guards, auto dim mirror w/compass, cargo tray. With tax, tags, and fees it was just over $24,900.
Tight supply locally (only 2-3 cars on most dealer lots), didn't want a base model, Sport or Limited, and no interest in a 5-speed, so not a lot of selection to pick from. Lucky I got the color I wanted, and only a few extra options that hadn't been on my original want list. |

DGM Manual No extras $20,500 +tax & license Only paying dealer price of car because my state's tax is half of the tax in CA where I got it. Sangera Automotive Group. Tax and license should bring it up to $21,750 +$1,300 to ship it to me. Buying a car in Hawaii out the door would be $24,580. So taking to account the $1000 more for the automatic I'd have to settle for in HI, I'm still about $500 under cost locally and I get my MT. Also should qualify for the $500 Costco card since it was purchased from CA. HI is not eligible for the cash card. So really I'm saving about $1000 buying out of state. Just thought i should follow up on the Costco $500 gift card thing. i'm still not holding my breathe, but i'm one step closer. they got my redemption form the other day (sent an email of acknowledgement) and this morning said they verified my purchase and would be contacting me soon with a survey but i could call and 800 number at my own convenience. after completion of the survey, the email says it will take 2-3 weeks to receive the gift card.
as has been suggested, purchasing from the Costco dealer is not a requirement...you just miss out on a free accessory card and a few other perks from what i've read. i'm grateful to this forum for bringing this to my attention. still not feeling excited until i see the card come in the mail, but it looks like this is coming to fruition. |

before calling for the survey, i thought i'd do my homework and what i discovered is that the dealer i bought from is one of the costco dealers! weird: as i did not go with the dealer i knew was a costco dealer, and i bought and negotiated my impreza without any mention of costco whatsoever. anyway, the interview was short, and simple (maybe 5 minutes including the time i was on hold). the bonus of having unbeknownst to me, bought from an actual costco linked dealership, i got an addition $50 gift voucher to use on service or accessories at my dealer. the rep said i should expect my $500 card in 2-3 weeks. pretty sweet! |

Same thing here about the Costco Auto Program Member Satisfaction Survey: I never got it by email; or maybe I did not wait long enough.
I called 1-877-746-7422, and completed the survey by phone. I was told the card would be mailed in four to six weeks. The survey was relatively short and painless. |

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/3/prweb9282126.htm as has been stated previously, it appears you don't necessarily have to have bought through a subaru dealer. you just need to have bought one in the proper time frame with a VIN that they confirm is real. if you're in that two month window, i'd suggest downloading and submitting the form. it'll take you less than 5 minutes and who knows, you may get lucky. |

Just fill up the forms. Go through the whole process at http://www.costcoauto.com/ as if you have not purchased anything yet. Then in the redemption form fill up the information from your actual vehicle purchase. Submit the Redemption Form to the Costco Auto Program before July 15, 2012. |

wow! i didn't quote my rep because i thought what he said sounded funny:
"you should see if it 2-3 weeks, if not sooner." i think he probably was referring to the fact that it's typically faster, but i didn't want to get my hopes up to high. i can wait 3 weeks as long as it arrives. Xarthan - thanks again for inspiring me to pursue this. |

bought a 2012 Impreza Sport Limited w/sunroof, cold weather package (a must here in Phoenix), and a few other things. MSRP was $25,200.00. Was able to get it for $23,900.00 plus $279 for the mandatory window etching (which they actually deducted from the price of the car). I did have a trade, a 2012 Veloster. They gave me $18,250 for it. MSRP on that car brand new was only $20,400.
I was really thinking this would never work out since there were only 2 sports in the whole state of Arizona at the time, and they were not even on the ground yet. But, they still made me a geat deal. |
