I think that's pretty much the consensus all around. They do great work but be prepared to wait and they really need to work on communication

I have no problem waiting for quality work, but it would have been nice if they had given me (us) a more realistic timeline. And if communication hadn't completely stopped after I gave em teh moniez.

5 weeks past orignal due date of May 12th now and 8 weeks since they received my turbo.
I did finally get a response to all my enquiries about a month after Jonathans last communication to me. I was told that he has been in and out of the office the last several weelks and has had a hard time keeping up with the e-mails. He told me that he would check up on my status and would get back to me the following day. The next day I received no response so the following day I e-mailed again and once again got an apology for the slow response but this time was told due to the overwhelming work load that my turbo along with a group of others had been sent out to another company (Grimmspeed) to perform the PnP and ceramic coating. He also said he would be checking up on their ETA and would get back to me by the end of the following day at the latest. This was last week and have not heard anything yet. According to Grimmspeeds own website they state that PnP and coating can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks so I guess it depends on how soon they actually received my turbo as to when it will be getting done. I would assume that after PnP and coating is performed it will still need to be sent back to Six Star for reassembly so not sure really when all this is going to take place. As others have stated numerous times that their work is top notch so I'm truly hoping that all of this waiting is worth the time. I'll keep you all informed, Bret |

On another note my turbo still performs flawlessly with zero issues. I am still finalizing my e-tune on 93 and when that is done I will begin my E-85 tune. |

So after no update that was promised last Friday I decided to contact Grimmspeed to see if they had any information for me. After speaking with an incredibly helpful representative of their company I found out that they did not even receive my turbo until this last Tues. the 17th which makes that 8 weeks and 1 day after Six Star received it from me and almost one week after Jonathan told me that he had already sent it to them. So now I still have at least 2 to 3 weeks there and probably another 2 to 3 weeks going back to six star, rebuilding and then shipping back to me. So not including the week it took me to get it to them it will have taken 15 weeks before I have it back in my hands. Quite a bit of a difference to the 3 weeks that was originally told me.
Continuing to hope that the work performed was worth the wait. I'll keep the community informed. |

At the very least there could be more of an attempt to communicate to their customers. Maybe consider sending out a mass email letting everyone know what kind of delays to expect to folks waiting to have work done. Thanks for keeping us updated. |

Appreciate the follow up zapco. That means my housings are sitting at GS too. Jonathan actually responded to my emails on Monday stating the housings would be back from GS by the end of next week. Based on your talk with GS, that is also inaccurate. smh

Monday the 30th, Six Star will have had my turbo for 10 weeks now after estimated a 3 week turnaround. The last I heard from Jonathan was on the Thurs. 12th stating that he would have an ETA from Grimmspeed no later than the end of day on the 13th which is now two weeks ago. As already mentioned I found out from a very helpful person at Grimmspeed that they didn't even receive my turbo until the 17th. Still no word and completely in the dark as to when I will be getting it back.
Just trying to keep the community informed so as they can make an educated descision on whom they wish to do business with. Still hoping the product is worth it. Tha saga continues, Bret |

i just emailed them about replacing my CHRA. And after what they told me, this thread, and my own experience of replacing one. I'm just going to do it myself again.
For anyone is is wondering how hard it is to replace just the CHRA, it took me about an hour total to take the turbo (vf48) apart, and put the new one back in. Hardest part was lining everything up, and that wasn't hard. |

I'm in the same boat as Zapco. It has been 9 weeks since 6SS received my turbo. I've called so many times I've lost count and NEVER talked with a person. Yes, I've left messages... I've also sent e-mails that only get answered after I send 2 or more and usually about a week later. Still no turbo.
I've been extremely patient and only ever asked for communication. All we expect as customers is honest workmanship and communication in trade for our honest buck. I'll keep you posted on the quality. It better be freakin incredible! |

As an update to my turbo...I finally got it on and tuned. Butt Dyno says amazing, but I need to get it on the dyno to see the results. About 500 miles on my 6SS rebuilt VF48.

Just my quick weekly update.
11 weeks now since they received my turbo and the 12th of last month since I've heard anything from Jonathan promising an ETA within the day. Still left in the dark. Just hoping the rest of you don't have to endure the same. |

I just got word from Jonathan that a big shipment from GS hit their dock today. He also said my turbo could potentially be shipping in the next couple days. Not holding my breath... But it looks like things are moving along.

Hey Evil,
I guess getting a response from Jonathan is like winning the lottery. Never expect it but really surprised and happy when it happens. Several messages since the 12th of last month and still no update. Now I'm living vicariously through your communications. Lol |

Well I'm not sure if this will excite you or disappoint you then... I just received a tracking number from UPS for a 16 lb package to be delivered on Monday. Hang in there man, just try to be respectful of what I can only assume is a full workload they have right now.

I have been nothing but respectful, and have gone above and beyond being patient. You had mentioned that they received your turbo on May 8th, a full 17 days after they received mine and for what appears to be similar work being performed and yet you get responses and actual confirmation on a return. The last I heard from Jonathan was almost a month ago promising to give me an actual ETA within the day and nothin yet. I have sent numerous e-mails, all showing extreme restraint with nothing but patience and respect. I honestly don't know how I could be more respectful of his workload. The only difference with me and what appears to be everyone else is that I have been documenting on here the progress. And yes it makes me very happy that you (or anyone for that matter) is actually getting something back. And so it continues. |

I'm running their 18g that I bought to replace my Blouch 18g. I'm too disappointed to post results or discuss this any more. I waited for over a month with my car not running waiting on the turbo and I'm making less power now. F these guys, they treat their customers like crap.
Please don't get mad at me for being honest here. I really wanted everything to work out and i tried to stay positive. If you don't care about your customers enough to reply to emails and answer the phone then you don't deserve their money. |
