STI JDM Version 7 swap, Inverted NPS for a working AVCS?
Hello,
A Question: I have a full Version 7 JDM STI swap (ECU, Harness, Engine, Transmission). to let the AVCS work, i have heard that we need to invert the Neutral switch. my current readings: value = 1 @ neutral Value = 0 @ gear Is this right? read subaru fixed the issue on Ver.9,, can't really know. Isn't inverting the NPS is right when having US transmission with JDM Engine?! Thanks in advance.

Version 7 will work with USDM 2004 STI 6mt NSS. They reversed in 2005/6 STI

if you have the matching ecu and transmission you should be all set if the NSS is intact. Just add the AVCS wires.

I think you misunderstood me, what am saying is that i have the Ver.7 JDM Transmission!so no need to install USDM one.
To let the AVCS work properly, shall i invert the functionality of the neutral switch? |

As long as you have the V7 ECM to match the V7 trans you will be fine. Double check the ECM and transmission part numbers. When I bought my V8 drivetrain they mistakenly gave me a V7 ECM So I had to change my NSS. If you have to change the NSS the part numbers above are the USDM part numbers that will work with the JDM trans.

Let's say I have a EJ207 v9 (and ecu) mated to a 05 USDM 6MT. Will i still need to change the NSS?

I would physically check the NSS with a multimeter. If your drivetrain is already in the car, The NSS is on the top of the trans about 3/4 of the way back towards the shifter. The harness runs down the drivers side of the transmission, it is a two pin plug (I think it's white). If you have the right NSS it will be closed in gear and open in neutral. Hopefully you have the right one. It is a real PIA to change it,, but it can be done without completely removing the trans.

2005 for both JDM and USDM seems to be the year the NSS inverted. I don't know for sure on the JDM 6mt maybe someone else could chime in on this.

I am happy that I can just select the proper signal in the rom, just one checkbox. |

Copy your gear determination ratios over from your 5-speed WRX rom and put them into this table on the JDM rom
