you can say that about the wiseco pistons too....

I'd bet all the money went into the rest of the setup, like the billet crank and those things...oh what are they called?...oh yeah a supercharger and a turbo

This is FAT - They were running STi Pinks on a GT35R and claiming something like 450 whp a long time ago.

You guys all know what this things for right? Can you tell me off the top of your heads how much the injectors will flow with the fuel pressure at 45 psi or 50 psi?
Well in case you're wondering with the fuel pressure at 50psi the injectors would flow right around 1000cc.

For what its worth i was running STi pinks with a 60 lb/min turbo. Just cause most people choose to run huge injectors and no FPR doesnt mean its not possible to run smaller injectors and a higher fuel pressure.

Well, injector size really depends upon the power he is shooting for doesn't it? Maybe he is just shooting for an autocross monster! I miss the instant boost that damn supercharger gives out! And not just the boost, the massive torque!

A typical 40R puts out about, what, 60lb/min of air at the top of its max efficiency range? A typical conversion of HP -> lb/min is 9-10:1. So that is ~570hp.

Using RC Engineering's handy-dandy injector sizing utility, and using it recommended settings, they would need to run the injectors at 100% duty cycle and 52psi.

Now let's add the supercharger into the equation...

Yes, they probably need more injector, or not use such a large turbo.

While yes, the supercharger CAN make more boost when compounding, the use of the supercharger is more inportant in making big boost (and big torque) SOONER.

If all you are after is big boost, then there is no reason for the supercharger, just go big turbo. But if you want a monster all the time, then compound/twincharge!

^^ maybe meth and/or racegas also.

Anyway, for a build like this I wouldnt expect the IDC to be a problem. At least not a "build stopping" problem.

The first time the IDC gets high you either try raising the FP or simply stop and install bigger injectors.

really not that big of a deal.

although, i will agree at first glance its shocking to see 850's with a gt40, let alone a compound gt40.

Not sure what you are saying here, but that doesn't come into play with 850cc injectors. Not sure why they chose custom lines. Maybe to avoid any fuel differences from cylinder to cylinder? Or maybe intercooler/intake pipe routing.

i was saying if they increased the diameter of the fuel lines doesnt that raise the effective cc's also, especially with an increased FP?

I was asking a question. Im not that familiar with FPR's, fuel lines, etc. But it would seem to me that if you increased the size of the fuel lines, you would flow more fuel, right?

Nope, it doesn't affect the rate of flow since fuel cannot be compressed. The smallest opening controls the max rate of flow. Intercooler and exhaust piping is another story.

On a side note, I always wonder why people upgrade their fuel rails and not the lines. The diameter of the fuel lines are much more restrictive than the rails.

This is the reason I like to twin charge. Look at the boost level skyrocket! This is from a rolling start on the dyno @ 3000 rpm. Full boost 26 psi @ 4000 rpm. The first run I popped the wastegate line off and hit 32 psi @ 4000 rpm.... Wheels slipped so no dyno plot for that one.

And when you are driving around @ higher rpms, the moment you step on the pedal, its is about 1 second to full boost! No lag baby.
