Default VAG-COM cable

I have a VAG-COM cable since I am a previous Audi owner. I searched around and saw that some people were using them. Is there any danger to using a VAG-COM and are there any limitations?

There's a thread about them at www.legacygt.com, and it seems to work for a lot of people. I've heard that it can only log, cannot flash, but I've also heard that it can do both. Try a "test write" in EcuFlash and see what happens.

I have been logging with the vag com cable on my o3 WRX. Initially it was a pain to setup but seems to log just fine. You actually might ba able to use ecu flash and flash with it cuz you have a drive by wire system vs my 03 having a drive by cable system.
