Have you found a good way to apply the z-6? I've tried using it a couple of times and all it seems to do it take water spots off. When I put it on.. I see no increase in shine or depth

btw how many coats of z-2 do you normall put on? Bet it looks awesome on red

I just spray on the Z-6 and wipe off with 100% cotton towel. If you've already applied Z-2/Z-5, I don't know if you can tell the difference in shine or depth. However, it does seem to improve the slickness of the paint.

If you say it helps remove water spots, then it's doing it's job!

As for coats.. Uh.. I think the pictures were taken with 1 coat of Z-5 and 2 coats of Z-2. I keep applying coats until I get sick and tired of buffing.

I often put more coats on the hood, though. Hoping for more ding protection.

I saw a guy that had put 10 coats of z2 on his grand am gt (I hate these cars, why does everyone that drives them think that the GT means that its a fast car?), but anyways it was unbelievable, I've never seen a car with a factory paint job that looked that nice.

I just wish I had the patience to put on more than 2-3 coats

Speaking of Zaino... over the weekend I noticed 8-12 long scratches on my hood -- cat claw marks! Stupid neighbor's cats.

I hand washed the hood with Z7, clay bar'd with Z18, and then applied two coats of Z5 + ZFX. You can still see the scratches at certain angles, but they are definitely less visible than before.

Can't wait till Zaino's scratch remover polish comes out and I can try to get rid of the scratches permanently!

Zaino is great stuff.

My package came in today at work from Zaino!
Too bad it's not gonna be warm enough to apply just yet this weekend!

I might be able to put a coat on the wheels though this weekend!

Soon pics to follow!

Thanks for contributing that my comments are dumb in addition to saying I'm a Nazi and my car is ugly. Now do you actually have something useful to contribute to the thread?

Oh yeah...

Just out of curiosity, where did you get that AWD towing sticker you put in the back window? It looks informative enough that even a tow monkey can understand it.

A long while back, a NASIOCer created the image and printed them out on static cling vinyl and sold them.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=130339

I don't think they are being made any more though. Sorry. You can try to print them yourself...

I applied another coat of Z2 this morning and polished the pipes that you can see from behind the car with Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish.

Those pics can be found here

Pictures do not do this product justice!

The only things that I don't like about Zaino are:
1)all my plastic painted stuff(hood scoop, bumpers, etc) attract dust from the towel that I was using and
2)all my dents and scratched really stand out now on the car

1) What kind of towel are you using? Be sure to use a USA made 100% Cotton bath towel. Charisma/Cannon/Royal Velvet are very good. Also, be sure to use clean spots on your towel, and/or change towels. It just seems like your towel may be getting overloaded. Generally, I am able to buff an entire car with one bath towel though.

2) Have you used the Z-5 for light scratches? If Z-5 isn't enough, you may consider using scratch remover polishes from 3M. Or if they are really bad then... umm.. oh well.

Your car is looking good!

Thanks man!

I bought all new 100% towels for Zaino application

I tried the bath towel that I bought, but it streaked funny and made a scratching noise, so I ended up using 100% terry cloth detail towels (also new) that I bought at target.

The scrathes that I have on my car are of other people's paint and stuff. Z5 won't help. Nothing short of repainting those doors will help!

1) That's probably because your towels have a static charge to them. When you wash the towels, make sure you air dry them. I typically throw mine in the dryer until they are partially dry, then hang them up to dry the rest of the way. Oh, and don't use the fabric softener sheets.
2) Use Z-5 as mentioned in the earlier posts.

for those having problems with lint, why not buy a towel the same color as your car

I have a black car so i bought a black fieldcrest bath towel at bed bath and beyond and it works great

Oh hmm. Is it lint coming off the towel, or is it the removed polish that isn't sticking to the towel?

The towels were brand new. the lint is coming from the towel to the ABS plastic. I snapped them in the air a few times to get as much lint off them when I saw lint on the car. I used the california duster aka TFATF style on the car and they were gone. . .

I feel like whoring my images so here are a few. . .
