Default What do you do for a living?

Inspired by the many "career" threads in OT. I'm sure there is a thread in AKIC that someone made a long time ago, asking this question, but lets get some up-to-date jobs.

So, what the hell do you do for a living?

I'll start us off.

Job Title: I'm a "Juvenile Crime Researcher" for UAA & APD.

Brief Description: I read Police Reports and put specific information from those reports into a database. Apparently a lot of local government people and anchorage citizens have an idea that Juvenile crime is disproportionate compared to a city the same size somewhere else in America. The information we collect will be decoded and put into graphs and such and presented to the local government. Stricter laws may be made as a result.

Run a rental car company. Responsible for making sure that our rates are the lowest out of all the rental car companies on the main websites, I.E., Orbitz, Yahoo Travel, AOL Travel, Travelocity, lonelyplanet, etc. Which are all ran by the GDS Systems such as Sabre and WorldSpan. For the most part, my job is only fun in the summer time, winter is boring as hell.

Housing and Travel Assistant, I fly patients in and out of Anchorage for medical services, I also bill for care items, and am working on a website for our department. In addition to this I also am doing some outreach programs trying to inform our customers about our services.

I'm in the Marine Corps, I do a lot of stuff. Lets see, today I played football for about 2 hrs then got off work after lunch. Tomorrow I don't really do anything till 5 pm when we have a unit party with supplied alcohol. Thursday we have another one. Friday I get off at about noon for a four day weekend. I don't recommend the lifestyle for everyone but if you think you have what it takes......

Nah, it wasn't always this easy. We graduate next week and have finished everything.

Go to flight school after this.

I sure could use a hook up as my lack of credit keeps denying me of a loan...)O:

We are hiring 10+ techs for Internet Tech Support and are always in need. Check out www.gci.com or adn.com's ads, and apply.

Thanks,
