so how was this event compared to a stage rally event in terms of terrain? about the same? rougher than stage events or smoother?

The terrain was for sure rougher, the low area was a pea gravel sand mixture with no solid bottom so you could dig dig dig and never hit a solid bottom. The high area was a hard packed dirt that turned to grease once the ran came. It was a blast regardless, had the weather held out it would have been even better.

Here is a small video I put together of a couple runs I did.

Definitely rougher.

Dang, looks like I missed a NASIOC party last night!

Anyhow, thanks Nate, Nate MFM, and the other organizers, it's great to see there is so much potential and passion to get RX up and going in different regions. I had a blast, met some great people, and got to get a bit dirty. Pictures will be up this morning.

I do have some feedback for the organizers (all good stuff ) that I will share once I get my thoughts compiled.

+1 I was the 3rd car out that morning. Made it down the hill for the parade lap and got red flagged because the 1st car out was already stuck. I finished my parade lap, did one hot lap at roughly the same speed, and decided I wanted to drive my car home. It has 0 damage whatsumevers.

You have every right to be angry, but only at yourself. Directing it at anyone else is simply inappropriate.

I do sincerely wish you luck in your repairs.
Ha. Sorry to laugh, but....HA. I did not know that. I missed all the posts, but I got the gist of it and this just makes it even more unbelievable.

my gopro wasn't recording on your timed lap, only the parade lap

Again, great job on your first event. I know it's tough organizing a big event like that.

One suggestion that may help in the future is to try to split the run groups up by class. Whether that means 3 groups, or NA and turbo are one group and 2WD is the other, etc. That way if you have course corrections, everyone in a class runs the same course. That would have helped alleviate not knowing how to score at the end, since run group 1 ran a 25% longer course than group 2.

Other than that, just have less rain next time so the course doesn't deteriorate as quickly.

Perhaps in the mud where you can't get much speed it was OK but based on the pictures this doesn't seem like the venue I'd personally want to take a non-caged car at full tilt in the dry. Especially a lowered car You can't teach people common sense, and some people can never be appeased. Kudos to the organizer for securing the location, entrants, and insurance to put on the event.
