Default STI pink wagon springs/struts

Does anyone know where I can get the springs for a good deal? STI sedan springs everywhere but no wagon springs to be found

Love to find matching struts but just the springs would be great. I'll install them on stock struts until I find better ones.

Thanks all,
alwrxwu

What "STi pink wagon springs/struts"?

Your profile says you have an 02... there were (red) wagon specific v7 struts (OEM on the GGB chassis and sold domestically with black RA-rate springs as the 'SPT kit'). AFAIK there were no wagon-specific pink springs for the 02/03.

The wagon "pinks" are v8- 04+- necessitating the use of v8 rear tops. To use w/ v7 struts you have some issues to overcome w/ the difference in the top of the pistons- some have usd hardened washers to accomplish this.

Supposedly Koni is coming out w/ v8 rear inserts this month- those would be a perfect match- you just use your existing struts and put the Koini inserts in.

I just noticed they're selling SPT springs and not STI JDM springs. What's the difference?

SPT: lowering springs for 04+ non-STi Impreza. Similar spring rates to stock USDM STi. Available for sedan OR wagon.

JDM STi pinks: lowering springs for 04+ STi. Stiffer than stock STi. Available in sedan fitment only.

If your in a wagon- you want the wagon ones

The Koni inserts in your oe struts would be a very good match for these springs.

How about using using 04 top hats or Group N mounts? Is this the setup that people are complaining about, ie having to use a washer, etc?

You *must* use the 04 hats if you are using 04 springs. If you use your stock 02 struts as-is, then the fit will not be perfect and yes you will most likely need the washer. That's why Big Sky is suggesting v8 (i.e. 04 style) Koni inserts.

So the "new" 04/05 koni inserts will fit into the 02/03 strut bodies?

if so...
