Fixing it would help, but the movement of transmission back and forth side to side has most like damaged my diffs and axles to.

Its either take a risk repair it and then may have a massive bill to fix everything else.... Or sell my car and get an older model impreza with higher mileage which will have a massive bill too, but won't have as severe issues.

Sell it, buy a cheap beater, and save for 6 months.

KBB has my car at 15,100...it's an 08 Premium with 33,500. Does that sound right? For that I'd gladly upgrade to a 11+ WRX...

Maybe retail/private sale. A trade in offer would probably be closer to $11500-$12000

Sucks to hear man...
Maybe you should see what the cost would be to fix it and go from their?
I mean maybe you could fix it and sell it. It really depends on what you would rather do

Have you tried contacting your insurance company or the people who did the repairs?
They might step in and fix/total the car..?

Hey guy's. Just joined and read the last 200 pages of this thread. I'm looking to purchase a 2008 2.5I sedan base package, auto, newton pearl blue locally here in North Jersey, so I sent a friend request to some of you guys that I found are local with modded 2.5I's. My plan is to use it as a DD. Most likely just RA flaps, Rota wheels, and coilovers. If I purchase the vehicle I will do a more thorough intro, buying this car to keep my Audi in the garage all winter (it's my show baby).

Anywho, anything you guy's recommend I look for that could be problematic? All the battery/fluids/belts/timing belt/waterpump have been changed and it's mechanically sound. It's a 1 owner, garage kept, 150k, no accident car. Remember, just looking to buy as a DD (my daily commute is 8 mile roundtrip)

Doing that as I type, as stated in my post above.... NJ.

Also Fancyfoot... your car was one that stood out in this thread. Excellent car, OEM+ and love the flaps and gold wheels. Inspiration for sure.

Damn, what a shame. this site has 3x the amount of users then my Audi forum but this place is dead! I only saw about 4 of you users that actually posted pictures of your cars lowered, wheels, engine mods, etc. in this thread over the past few years, haha.

Definitely make sure the timing belt and water pump have been replaced. If unsure get it done or make the dealer do it! It's recommended to be done at 105k. I'd say make sure it doesn't burn oil at that high mileage either but sometimes that can be hard to find out on a test drive. Good luck! Oh and pics of the Audi?!

Edit: check the 2.5i forum in the Members Gallery section for more pics and some discussion about our cars!!!

You can fix the issue, but the problem with the transmission moving is creating damage to diffs, and may just cost more than it should.

I'd rather sell it, since resale value is going to be the same either way.

Nope, not yet, but will insurance really cover this?

I have absolutely no idea. Let them know the damage was from your previous accident and the facility that fixed it made poor repairs that need immediate attention. That may say too bad but, you never know!

I feel you man I felt the same way when I thought my car was totalled. There isn't much people left like us who value their car as more then just a thing to get from point A to B. By us I mean every car enthusiasts on this forum, ect. I'd say about 90% of my friends n family just see cars as accessories.

Why would you run RA flaps with coil overs? I never understood that. Unless you're not lowering the car with the coil overs, then disregard this entire post.

My OE mud guards or whatever they are called got ripped off a couple days after lowering my car, and they're no where near as low as the RA flaps

The RA flaps are flexible so, they won't rip offs so easily.

Thank you for the response about what to look for! I'll post pictures of the Audi tonight. Also, will try to find the Members Gallery to take a look at some more pictures of 2.5I 08-10 sedans.

Because the Urethane RA are flexible as someone else state, plus I don't plan on going that low on coil-overs.
