I have a 2012 WRX hatchback and I noticed the rear right wheel has more negative camber vs. the rear left wheel.

I'm doing Cobb springs soon and then an alignment after a few days of driving. Cobb told me that there is no camber adjustment in the rear of our cars. So should I buy camber bolts in the rear just to make sure I can get the camber even on each side?

Also, my friend's 2012 WRX on coilovers has the same issue with the rear right wheel leaning more. Cobb installed/aligned his car as well.

Is this a good kit, or is this overkill?

That's the minimum you'll need.

So this would be a better option since the other one only allows +/- 0.75 adjustment?

Better if you need them yes but there's a limit as to how much you can adjust the arms until you start having problems.

I would do cusco or gt spec lower control arms. ... heck even megan if you're on a budget. Those bushings are a joke .... 0.75 degrees of adj is next to nothing

@Tarmac ... was the car on perfectly even ground when you checked the camber?

Had Firestone align my '13 WRX today. Set the trip meters to see if anyone would take it for a long drive after, and sure enough, almost 4 miles clocked. When I inquired, the manager said it's necessary to check the work. I smell BS...I think some kid wanted to take Baby for a hard spin...

that is why i have them write it up in the service order that the vehicle is not allowed to leave the premisis without me in it....or i call it in stolen and will prosecute for that.
i make the tech sign it and the mgr on duty sign it.

It's pretty standard practice to road test before and after an alignment. Check for tire/brake vibrations that dumb people think an alignment will fix, Confirm the wheel is straight afterwards, etc etc. if you can't trust the place to drive it maybe you should find a better shop....

.....but it doesn't usually take 4 miles to do those things for a basic alignment (unless perhaps they're trying to replicate an issue the owner wants diagnosed , etc.). .....and it isn't unreasonable to ask to be present during the test drive in either case IMO.

4 miles? That is a silly thing to worry about. You are probably the type of person that ties a shops hands and still expects perfection from their work.

Some of you have such a huge thing against mechanics. Trust me most of us don't beat your car because 1 we don't wanna get blamed if anything happens 2 we've driven nicer cars 3 our personal car is probably faster

Again if you can't trust your mechanic to drive your car 4 ****in miles you need to find a different mechanic. Depending on where the shop is it might easily take 4 miles to get on a level road and out of stop n go traffic. Can't tell much about a car and possible problems in 25 mph stop n go.

Besides the fact if your car is gonna break from 4 miles of spirited driving maybe you should be paying the tech to fix it for you since you obviously did something wrong.

Agreed. Especially with alignment. I know my mechanic has to go 5 miles from the shop to get to a perfectly straight road and flat surface to test out alignment and suspension set up.

I just realized something: Uncle Scotty is a drunk. He was definitely drunk when he posted this.

I think they based the Trailer Park Boys character Jim Lahae on him!!

Who pissed in your cornflakes? It's really simple. Find a mechanic you can trust and take the car there Unless your price shopping the big chain stores your not gonna get the kind of moron that your describing. Believe it or not most of the techs I know all have a nice car/project at home. It may spend more time getting changed around then getting driven but your mostly stock wrx really ain't that interesting all things considered.

Numbers are even. The front camber is kinda aggressive for a daily driver. Depends on what you do with it though. Plenty of guys running more then that but it is out of the factory range

I plan on lowering it on something like 18x9.5 +35s and maybe 265/35s so I'd like to start with some negative camber and go from there with fender mods, etc.

I recently noticed that both of my right tires were wearing much more quickly on the inside than the rest of the tire. I went and got it aligned at a shop where I though the guy knew what he was doing and the camber was way off. Front L/R -1.0/-2.1 Rear L/R -1.3/-3.3. The guy was an idiot and told me the camber was not adjustable and I was so dumbfounded that I left. I am going to get the front realigned at another shop and I know the rear is unadjustable my question is what can I do to get the rear closer to spec because -3.3 is too far off. I have a 2011 WRX with RCE Blacks and whiteline sways.

I have a similar problem my rear camber is -2.0 on the driver side rear and -2.6 on the passenger side rear on my 2011 xt with complete sti takeoff suspension. Since the rear is strait bolt on and no adjustment what can make it that off? They came off my friends 2012 sti with 1000k miles in one piece and went on my car the same way they came off. My friend that gave them to me did the alignment and said it should be ok as is and has given me no ill effects for the last 8k miles and no tire wear? Any insight would be awesome!
