Default inside spt muffler...

are the spt mufflers decent? ive searched and found mixed reviews. my main concern was if it was straight through or not. im really looking for a straight through muffler. but found a good deal on an SPT catback... any help appreciated! thanks!

yea i know catback gains are minimul. (its all in my head). i have just a k&n right now.. its a toss up between an AP v.1 right now and the cat back... im eventually going to go stage two. but im so tired of the car being so dang quiet. i can also go opensource. ive done that with my 04.. but wasnt going to go stage two till later. but wanted to at least go stage one... but i dunno.

^ yup tapers at the flange (dp to mid pipe) to 2.5"

I had SPT matted to Invidia catless DP but got rid of the SPT for Cobb Catback (and made it a true 3")

So true, before my STi axbleback I had a Prodrive Oval and it sounded nice and deep, but with the subtle STi axleback half the time I don't realize I'm at such high speeds already, with the Prodrive I knew since it was rather loud in the cabin and droned a little for me.

The SPT is one of the more restrictive catbacks you can buy. Although it will take quite a bit of horsepower to see gains vs a straight through resonated style exhaust....

I have the Bosal Catback (company that makes SPT) and it sounds decent and it's built really well. It's 3" piping also. It also looks betetr than the SPT because of the new tip design....its not thin looking, it looks like the stock STi tip.

The SPT catback is surprisingly loud, especially for a "factory" part. I had it on my wagon, and it resonated a lot. I eventually got rid of it because it was just too loud on the highway.

My SPT is full 3in(No Resonator) until it reaches the tip after the muffler. These are not straight through design but they keep it quiet yet it has rumblez.

the cop did like the car alot tho, so maybe if it was something different he woulda got a ticket...

on the other hand he got a ticket in his SRT4. he had catless downpipe, and the borla stage 2 cat back... thing was LOUD THO. cop didnt belive him that the srt's come factory without mufflers, that they come with a resonator...
