Borla Hush and friends!
Im looking for a catback exhaust and this one caught my eye. I'm looking for a low end sound, not too loud or ricey, 2.5. Including the Hush, what would you recommend? and if you could, post a soundbit. Thanks

dude, do not waist your time with a 2.5 exhaust. you need 3 inch for good power. i have a friend and we both have about the same mods except my exhaust is huge compaired to his and from a stop or a roll i pull at least a car on him every single time.
he has a tanabe 2.5 inch exhaust and i have a blitz nur-spec 3 1/8 inch exhaust |

a catback exhaust is not going to make that big of a difference. A prodrive exhaust also sounds like what you are looking for. check out www.daddysscp.com/nasioc/ there are a whole bunch of sound clips. The exhaust will be quieter then the ones on that page since most of those are being run missing one or two downpipe cats.

2.5 exhaust is fine. Unless you plan on making crazy horsepower and upgrading a ton of other stuff, you don't need 3 inch exhaust.
Quoting a tech article on Cobb Tuning's site: "Pipe diameter does have an effect on flow rates as well, but again it is not the major factor in most cases. 2.5" may flow enough for 300-350 h.p. without being a restriction. 3" is usually capable of flowing 500-600 h.p. before becoming a restriction. The Hush is a great catback. It is only 2.5 at the removable connector. You can have a 3" fabricated if you wish. The rest is 3". Sounds great, looks great.
I'm about to get a ScoobySport DP cause I want a third cat and a bellmouth and there just aren't too many options out there. If it were 3", I'd be a little happier but not much. Good luck. |
