Yeah, Dom's set up from MPS (the one that made a lot of interest) was a +2, as were a lot of those early 'public' MPS long rod setups. I know they've mixed it up now and offer 134 or 134.5mm length setups. Can't remember exacts as he and I have juggled too many ideas and set ups through the years to keep things straight
Now the Honey Badger that Turn In Concept carries is a +2mm on a 79mm stroke. It's done to reduce compression height and reciprocating mass...not done as a rod ratio change as it barely bumps it from a 1.65-1.67:1. ok now /threadjack and clarifying. Joe, get that ish fixed and flying!!

This was my 11.2 run against a 10.4 run by ASF's green crotch car. My best run that night was an 11.1 @125mph. |

The Green car has its own thread under the project car forum and the white car is the car in this thread. White car 11.2 and green car 10.4

So it only trapped 125? whats the car weigh? Trap seems way low for power (looking at it without the correction factor)

I have a bad 5th gear synchro and have to jam it into 5th and loose top end speed. I also think the short gearing in th 04 transmission does not help either. I have not weighed car with me in it.

Traps make sense for a 525whp car and a crappy 5th gear synchro.
Get the trans fixed and run some tens at/close to 130mph. |

Planning on swapping to 07 gears this winter so I can hold 4th through the traps, but still happy with it. Might even think about changing out cams too.
Going to the strip was a bad idea because I got the itch to go faster worse than ever. |

Yea I could see that killing a couple mph up top...
Maybe some weight reduction? I trapped 125 at 430whp but my race weight is about 3200 w/ me in it. Quote:

Gearing is not hurting you that much. My car has trapped 132 at bandimere with the jdm 5/6 (even shorter than the stock 2004 gearing) with only 555 whp. Same type of Dyno. Same correction factor.
The 5th gear deal will of course hurt but it should still be trapping well into the 130's with that power. |

Car was most likely being short shifted as well. It was his first outing to the track in over 2 years as well I believe. We have no logs though to verify where it was being shifted at but that is my guess based on the inaccuracy of the stock tacho.

Peak numbers aren't as important as total area under the curve to get a fast car going, as well as the apparent troubles with a few things (gear box troubles and short shiftage).

Believe me I understand this. My Duramax is quite heavy... but runs 12.61 @ 106mph and makes around 525whp. It has a lot of area under the curve

Man I'd love to get a built trans in there. Toyed with rebuilding it myself, but even the rebuild kits are pricey. I think it could turn in the 11's with a trans. But pretty soon I'd blow it up pushing this s366 haha

Unfortunately the drag season is over here in Colorado, but this spring we will have gears in the transmission and more seat time, so we should be able to get the trap speeds to where they belong. And shave several tenths off the quarter times.
