Yes they're important. If you were ever to bottom the suspension out you'd either destroy the shock or totally compress the spring (which turns into a steel cylinder) and destroy the strut mount/spring perch/adjustable collar. If you are running 8" springs you are more likely to totally compress the spring which is probably the more destructive of the two scenarios.

You're not the first one to forget them in the install. It's a real PITA but I think you should dismantle the suspension and put them back in.

thanks tony..

i did put them back on.. the half assed way. i took off the wheel bottomed out the spring.
then i cut the trimmed bump stop down the side and slipped it over the shaft. thanks.

Oh no. I was gonna mention not to do that but I forgot. I think the bump stop is gonna be next to worthless now. If you bottom out the suspension is the bumpstop gonna compress and do it's job or just split open and be useless. I think the latter if the compressing surfaces are flat. I'd pick up some quality bumpstops from Summit or someplace and do it the right (although PITA) way. Sorry, should've mentioned that in my first reply.

Yeah, what Tony said.

Sorry I didn't get to email you in time, but you should definitely get some new stops.

maybe, but DON'T ATTEMPT IT WITHOUT DISASSEMBLING THE SUSPENSION.

you will seriously damage the strut if you get jb weld on the rod.

you might be able to save them by using a few zip ties in the right places. its worth at shot

BTW its the zip ties that can fix anything not duct tape
