Odd question..fastest hauler of 4x8 plywood
Typically when I have to haul anything large I use my wife’s mini-van which sometimes is a pain as I have to work around her schedule. So I was curious what is that fastest or maybe best driving vehicle that can handle 4’x8’ building materials?
The first that come to mind (and I’m guessing they fit) would be the large SUV’s like Grand Cherokee SRT-8 or GL 63. I don’t actually plan on buying one it just got me thinking. I guess another option would be a small trailer and a tow hitch but I suck at backing one up. And of course owning a second vehicle like a truck. If this is more of an off-topic post please feel free to move it, since it was car related I put it in General.

I don't see plywood fitting into a SRT8 Jeep.
I do see it fitting into a SRT10 Ram |

Yea I don't think you'd be able to close the hatch on a 4x8 piece of plywood on either of those SUVs.
I think it'll fit in a Marauder though, as long as it's supercharged. |

I'm trading it for a real truck with an 8 foot bed soon. I needed 4 doors years ago when I got it for a good deal, but I need a real bed. |

Get an open snowmobile trailer. I have one and my snowmobile has never been on it. I bring brush to our recycling center, picked up a washer, picked up furniture, transported crap that I didn't feel like putting inside the car. I've pulled it with a CRX, so don't give me the excuse that you need a truck to pull it. I have yet to put a trailer hitch on my Lotus, but it would work.

He said fast. Granted the Raptor is fun, its not fast. My ecoboost runs mid 14's and is faster than a raptor.
If he is hauling plywood I doubt the 1000lb payload of the raptor will be an issue. It'll also tow 8000lbs, which is really more than most will ever tow, considering most car trailers are ~1500 and maybe 6k with your car and gear. Plus, if he mentioned the jeep, payload clearly doesn't matter. he said Fast, have you driven these friggin turds? OP, budget? The SRT10 Ram will be fast enough, and if you buy the Quad Cab, it'll have plenty of payload. The regular cab will do just fine for light duty work too, and if you can drive is a 12 second truck bone stock. Im partial to my weekend hauler. Runs 11's(not stock), will haul my motorcycle or any load of crap I throw in the bed(tail gate down) and is a total blast too. Throw the suspension work I have in(full hotchkis, bilstein shocks, panhard bar, hotchkis sways) and it carves one helluva corner too If youre looking to keep it stock, they run low 13's out of the box and can be hand for 12-13k all day long, which is half the price of the dodges. |

How about a tuned up turbo diesel. Massive torque and can haul about anything.

Buy the harbor freight trailer and a hitch for your impreza. You're done for less than $400. If you seriously can't back the damn thing up unhook it and push it, they weigh 150 lbs.
If you seriously buy another car/truck to haul plywood, you're stupid. |

Replace dirt bike with more plywood. And it takes up very little space when folded up |

Oil change = 10-15 quarts depending on model Filter = $20-30 Fuel filter x2 every 15000 Tranny filter every 30k Its why I have my ecoboost. I get 21-22mpg freeway, can run 14's stock, Tows 11,000 lbs, has more room than I need and a torque curve that looks like a table top. |
