@vision:
I got something similar to that at a gas station in my GC RS. "They made cars like that back then!?"

Wow...Anyway, The other day I pull in to a gas station to fill up. A guy in his early 40's walks up.

Guy: That's a nice WRX!

Me: Close! Its a Legacy with everything fully swapped from the WRX STi.

Guy: Wow you can do that!?

Me: Yeah, basically everything bolts directly on. Very little modifications involved just a lot of research.

Guy: Wow that is pretty interesting, I have always loved the WRX's but wasn't too fond of the racer image. I might actually look into this some more now.

He seemed like he knew a lot about European cars (we talked for about 10 min) and sounded like he was really looking at getting a Subaru now. I told him that the newer Legacy GT's and Forester XT's had turbos also and basically the same engines. He had no clue and thought the only turbo Subaru was a Impreza. That's what I love about owning a Subaru, I have had a lot of great conversations with people.

I posted cause this thread is opinionated. Meaning I thought it was funny in MY opinion.

Same reason you posted yours, right? I didn't find your post funny at all. Yet, you still posted it

Lol guess it was more of a "you had to be there" moment.

To everyone who thought I was being a douche, I wasn't trying to be and I'm really not

EDIT: Drew, if everyone could put it the way you did...there'd be no problems lol

wrx (jawsh), if you didn't realize, everything was set to go back on topic until you posted...all the posts that ensue (including the previous on as well as mine) are your fault. you're basically telling us to keep our opinions to ourselves, which you clearly can't do, therefore why should anyone else?

who names their son jawsh?!?!

Complaining about being off topic just takes the thread further off topic.

If someone asking you what kind of car you are driving is funny, or even remotely interesting to you...Oh forget it.

If you'll scroll back just a tad, you'll see I do indeed post on topic.

And I didn't have to be there, your post was VERY condescending towards him.

Seems you have a severe case of head-up-ass syndrome. Especially with telling everyone to gtfo, what are you 12?

We are getting our first real snow tonight in central Ohio. People keep warning me to be careful, the roads are going to be bad. I know its not a funny comment, but everytime someone says it I just picture myself dccd snow drifting, or doing parking lot donuts. I always almost laugh when I reply with, "I will, thanks."

This will be my third winter with a Suby, I have never even remotely had a problem. My friend told me last winter not to get us stuck, I laughed and replied with "I'll sell it"

Edit: Just trying to make up for all my random OT posts in here, for all those who were upset

First winter with my Scoob!
Had a co-worker say "You make it alright today? That new little car of yours can't be that great in the snow."
Me: "Oh, you don't even know man"

A lifted 4x4 pulled over to let me pass lol
I still have yet to perform some very scientific testing in an empty lot to find the cars limits on snow tires but WOW I'm impressed so far.

I have pulled my dads 1997 GMC Suburban Extended out of the ditch. He was slowing down to turn into one of our fields and the driveway connecting the road to the field was pure ice and he slid into the ditch. I didn't think the STI would be able to pull the brute out. Luckily I didn't have to get the tractor, but I was quite surprised, as was my dad. He chuckled when I offered to pull him out.

Supposed to be getting first snow this weekend. Can't wait to go drifting in parking lots with almost bald summer tires.

First time one of my friends saw my STi he burst out laughing and said "dude, you drive a rice rocket". Granted, a stock looking STi is pretty much the ricey-ist looking car you can buy, for some reason it always looked pretty reasonable, but it was midnight in an empty parking lot and it just really stood out.
