My Supercharger Build
Just realized I haven't shared my supercharger project with the nasioc crowd! I know most of the members over here are WRX/STi owners, but for the small crowed of us DIY aftermarket forced induction guys... enjoy.
Look here for the primary build thread. http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92852 The most recent photo. Yes, it's actually running! The 2 initial startup videos A drive around the block edit: Updated with more recent photo and videos

Ive been pondering doing a turbo swap in my TS this coming fall but after reading redevils SC thread he made me rethink. One, every non turbo suby is well turbo'd. I want somethn different and SCing seems to be the way to go. I came across a company called raptor superchargers on this site in the n/a thread. Has anyone ever even heard of these guys or have any info? I havnt contacted yet but was curious if any one knew anything or have had personal experience with them.

Ahh thank you very much Skidd. I did visit their site before but wasnt much info. And for $2500 even $3k thats not bad. Hell of a lot easier than dealn with a turbo swap. Im very interested now.

If you check out my build site (there is a link on that rs25.com thread), there is a great big page of calculations. Kinda mind numbing though . But.. in short.. I'm hoping for an increase of around 40-50hp. I emphasize the word "hoping" since this is mostly uncharted territory. But, what's going to matter most to me is the usable torque curve. The fatter the curve, the better for AutoX since I race in SM already!! As for pics, every single pic I take of the whole build process will be placed on my build site also. Or, to be more specific, within that build writeup I'm working on, will be links to all the raw photos.

let me ask you man . your a romraider guy right?
did you scale your map sensor? if so have you run into any problems from "unexpected " map #'s showing up on other maps? im in the planning stages right now for my build . your running this on stock internals and a 10.0-1 compression ratio? |

WOH! Question Overload!!
1) Nope.. not a Raptor kit. 100% pure home-grown DIY Supercharger project. And, it's not yet complete either. 2) Superchargers make me 3) Nope.. not a Romraider.. my ECU is not opensource tunable, so I'm not active in that project. Although I'm fully aware of it, and have done a good deal of OBD2 programming. But, I intend to try and make the AEM F/IC do the ignition and fuel control. I'm trying to work with Scott at AEM right now to have the kinks worked outa the F/IC. And yeah.. I'll be on stock 10:1 internals. 4) Hey! You'll be able to (ideally) make your own brackets when I'm done. I intend to provide enough details for the average home wrench-monkey to duplicate my work. Assuming I succeed that is!! 5) Make it a couple of bottle of beer while watchin' the Stanley Cup, and we'll call it even!! And rest assured, as soon as anything video worth is up and running, there will be videos!! |

thats so great that your gonna do what sounds like a tutorial for an install. hats off bro! i plan on beefing up the block a bit and doing some head work , and bootsting it up to like 12-15 psi. did you have to change your maf ? what maf are you using? a wrx one or? |

I didn't run the numbers for 12-15 psi with an M62. I don't know if it can provide enough CFM to generate that boost level on a EJ25. It might, and even should, but I don't know. I'm expecting about 5-6psi with teh SC spinning to 10Krpm. It's capable of 14krpm. But, you might have to consider an M90 if your looking for big boost numbers.
And, No MAF in my car. I'm all MAP. |

You will need this! 9" diameter.
To boost BIG psi on the m62, you need a 2.5-1 ratio meaning a 9" to 3.75?" pulley..... |
