Post Help on deciding asking price for my car (I WANT AN IMPREZA)

Ok, so ive decided to sell my Si and get a scooby, I have a 1999 Civic Si in black, DOHC VTEC 160hp. It only has an intake, so its basically stock, inside and out. The total price for the car locally was 23.9k, new ones NOW are going for 25.5k (low supply high demand) I gave a 3k downpayment, and my payments are $388.34. So anyways, how do i figure out how much to ask for the car? I really need your help here!! I decided i want an Pimpreza !! Ive become disheartened with Honda lately, and ive fallen in love with my friends MY00 SRP RS (hows that for abbreviations)

?! please help.. if anyone's insterested heres a pic:

And please no Honda bashing jokes..
Im DEAD serious about getting a scooby..

We have a convert! Praise be to Prodrive!

In all seriousness, I've heard of Si guys selling theirs for 1-2k lower than what they paid for it after 20-30k miles...if you can find a buyer, reel in the bait!

My advice would be to start at 23k and go no lower than 22k and you should be fine. The best place to sell cars is...don't laugh...the private schools. If a kid falls in love with your car, he's gonna beg his parents for money. And he'll actually pay extra for your mods. Amazing. I've seen some ugly modded Jeeps/Explorers go for parts+KBB+1-2k.

Welcome to the fold! One day you too will be doing powerslides in dusty lots and getting yelled at for reckless driving. Okay, well, maybe you're doing that already, but it's much more fun with AWD and a beautiful blue car.

Remember: rally blue or no sale.

Of course, as you well know you will always loose money when re-selling a car bought as new. Did you check any places on the Internet, like www.autoweb.com for Kelly Blue Book retail prices on your car? That should at least give you a good place to start from.
You said they were going for higher amounts now in your area locally so try and figure a reasonable percentage over the Blue Book value and maybe you can get more, maybe not.
Sorry that probably doesn't help a whole lot but its at least a starting point.
I will probably going through the same seceranio (sp?) next year when I am hopefully going to buy a turbo Impreza.

Always good to see another Impreza fan!

Um, does it matter what kind of number we toss out?

Because invoice with no options is $14.5k. MSRP is $16k. Therefore I personally value your car at something below $14k, but who cares about that because I don't live in PR.

If you really paid that much, and the dealers are still getting that much, then who knows what you can get for your used one. Start off at $20-22k maybe? How many miles are on this car?

Get a local or regional paper and see what the Si's in the area are going for. Supply and demand will be specific to your geographic region.

BTW, welcome to the i-Club

I thought you cant powerslide/drift/handbrake the impreza because of the stress to the differentials? Im a pretty avid drifter with my Si (its very easy its sorta naturally goes into a 4 wheel sideways drift when pushed)
in any case, the car will be a year old this monday june 5, and it only has 8,800 miles on the clock, so its driven pretty much under the "normal" driving quota, thats always a plus. Im actually trying to wait until MY01 impreza's come out, though, because im sure i wont be able to afford the WRX. And ..my color choice, for a MY00 would be silverstone metallic :P~ (too much hassle to keep a dark car clean) but, in all IRONY, if the MY01 comes in black, thats the color im getting
