When you put the key in the spring mechanism, give it one counter clockwise turn before snapping the pieces together. And for the record, hacking up your original key sucks. Mine doesn't fit perfectly flush and has some play. I think I'm going to JB weld it in there..

Also, if you are cutting your key make sure that you make it long enough!

Also received mine today too. Thank you! Is the 4th screw just in case one gets lost?

The button module was a tad bit too big so I really had to push it down in there. Really had to tighten down the screws so the gap went away, but it's still there a little bit because I didn't want to tighten the screws too much.

Called my local dealer and they said they don't cut laser keys, and I would have to special order one. So I'm going to a locksmith who said he can do it for $25.

Yep, 1 full turn seems like the right amount of tension.

The trick with carving up your key is to cut the minimum possible and then test fit. Then cut a little more. Once it fits in the housing, then cut the slot for the roll pin. When cutting the slot, err of the side of being further from the carved end. Then if it won't slide in quite far enough yet until can trim more. If you cut the slot too far the other way, then you're just left with a wobbly fitting key. I took my time and it fits perfectly. No slop at all.

Yes, there is an extra screw.

The remote is a very tight fit. Just make sure you have it seated so the buttons show through properly.

I'm not responding to any PM's. If it's not an e-mail, it gets deleted.
