Header for Power Hungy Nut Jobs! That's right I'm talking about YOU!
So I happend to have this crazy header thing here and I'm thinking to my self, 'self, no one in their right mind would want such a crazy thing'. So before tossing it onto the 'archive' shelf to never be heard from again I thought again, 'hmmm, maybe there are some guys out there crazy enough to want to use such a thing'. Now here I am posting to the sub-forum I think has got more power hungry Suby nut jobs (and I mean that in a nice way) than anywhere else on the planet.
So whaddya think... Worthy of a production part? 5 units maybe? Or put it on the shelf?

I would be interested - is it made of 321? and what is the wastegate size? 38 or 44mm?
Also any pics of it install on a block or car? |

No. It was just something thrown together as a visual aid. I do have some pics mounted on a long-block on an engine stand, but not in a car.
To use it the front of the car would need serious modification. I see this as strictly a drag racers part, but maybe not? Quote:

I'll grab the other pics shortly. Thanks guys! |

I'm interested. We're starting a drag car build now , and I want the turbo to sit there. Can we see the pics of it on the block ?

looks like it would work well for a suby engine installed in a air plane ...if your crazy enough to fly a plane with a suby in it ...you just might want the header set up

That would be for you to decide. We have a radiator for our low mount kit that may someday be released, but this is a different animal. No idea. Haven't thought that far ahead yet... Honestly I was about to put it in stogare ark of the covenant style. |

I'd consider getting one. BUT, it'd be for my 818 kit and I'm not sure it would fit between the timing cover and firewall. =( I won't have the kit for months.

I'd be interested if it didn't jut out so far.

Looks alot better with a hair dryer on it!
I was thinking it might work better if it went up a little rather than out so far so it could sit where the radiator would go. Another route is obviously a foglight mount. |

We can knock an inch off the length by steepening the WG port a bit and trimming the secondary some, maybe a bit more with a 38mm WG.
^ That we're already doing, old news |

It looks like it would jut out further than just where the radiator would go but hard to tell from just the pics. I prefer it to hug the belts so it doesn't sit under the radiator it at all possible. |

I imagine something like this:
Note that Mike had really bad things to say to me about 38mm EWGs in a road race situation. The flow was not the problem, the heat and failure rate were. He said GST wanted to use 38mm EWGs to ease plumbing, but after a couple failures just went back to 44s. |

These were the liquid cooled Tials? Those were specifically designed for low airflow HOT spaces

Keep in mind that was without the liquid cooling feature plumbed in...I believe he said "why would I add more **** when the 44mm work without it?" Hard to argue with that. KISS

I'm with this guy. My guess is, for this to clear my v-mount you'd have to mount the turbo directly to the collector. If you can do that and price this slightly cheaper than your standard manifold I'd be interested.

For a road coarse car the rad needs to be in the back. A drag car a small rad can be used behind, or next to, the turbo. |
