Yeah but the ESX STi is doing it now and repeatably to boot. You would also have to shell out the 70G and then a lot of jing in mods to get the new GT-R there.

Everyone saying that this car is overpriced and thinks a skyline is a better value has no idea what they are talking about. Price out building a 9 second certed car. Really. Try it. You're spending more than $90k

This car is an absolute bargain. Especially considering the collectible value when all of us are old and grey. Think of what a famous classic '70s dragster would sell for these days to some baby boomer with too much bloody money.

A few questions the OP might want to clarify. Selling a race car like this isn't your typical auto-trader transaction.

I know this car eats clutch packs like popcorn. I know they aren't anything sitting on a shelf somewhere. Will the new owner of the car have an easy means to procure things like this through ESX? The original vendor? Or will they be on their own?

What will tech support be like? This car will probably use up a few motors through the years. Will ESX provide all of the proper specs for replacement parts? Even though this will probably involve handing over a few choice secrets.

What type of spares package will this car come with?

Does the current shell carry a valid US VIN? Is it a clean title? Salvage?

<-- wishes I had $90,000 and a spray booth laying around to get rid of the red.

From what I was told about this car was it was a easy on parts car that did not need that much service? All the times I saw it run I saw them do a swap in the pits once with it and I can't remember what they did at the time

Wouldn't it be cheaper to go to one of the regoli brothers and have them build you one?

This car is so not worth 89K! Are they crazy. They are selling it cause it is going to be no longer allowed in their current class. 7 year old race car. Good luck getting 40k for it. If I had the money my car would have destroyed that car. So inconsistant. Never seen it run the same time in a weekend. Subaru and many other company sponsored the car, so they didn't pay for much. And they won a lot of money. Seems like a rip off to me!

Back in early-mid 2004 when they were traveling around to dealerships they had a red STI race car that had to have been a 2004. It was too early to be an 05 plus you could tell by the rear bumper and the lack of rear fender trims which are there on the car currently.

Did they build a new car in 2005?

Good grief. If you are going to cry about it, don't buy it. If you are a serious racer, take a look. There is nothing on a showroom floor that you can compare this to. I have never seen this car in person, I don't know the shop that built it, but I can guarantee you that you can't just go build a car that runs like this for cheap. You can't imagine what goes into a car like this if you haven't done it before. Don't be so critical if you don't have the cash either. I bet no one that has posted has an 8 second STI in their garage. Quit hating.

Hey guys,

Just saw the posts and wanted to respond to some of the questions/comments. If anyone needs questions answered immediately, please email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks

We are selling the car because we are no longer racing the older generation body style Impreza. We will be updating our body style to the new 2008. We will be racing again this year, however not at the extent we have been for the past 7 years.
This specific STI is built on a 2005 STI chassis, with the 2006 front end.

[quote=no-coast-punk;20600826]Everyone saying that this car is overpriced and thinks a skyline is a better value has no idea what they are talking about. Price out building a 9 second certed car. Really. Try it. You're spending more than $90k

Very True.

The answer is yes. We have opened a new location in Southern California and second location will be opening this year as well. Both locations as well as our website will be able to help anyone owning the new car procure parts, service, info, etc. We want this car, similar to the Pro 1400 HP, 2000 LB Carbon Fiber Subaru we sold to Australia a few months ago, to continue it's winning ways. We will have full service available for the new owner and offer track support anytime needed.

What will tech support be like? This car will probably use up a few motors through the years. Will ESX provide all of the proper specs for replacement parts? Even though this will probably involve handing over a few choice secrets.

Yes again, however, we are really the only company with the expertise that can build the horsepower and cars at this level, so the specs will be given, however we would like to do the work, so it's done right.

What type of spares package will this car come with?

Options can vary. We have spare motors, tranmissions, etc., however this car can run a full season on the same set up and then refresh on the off season. Really depends on the new owners goals.

Does the current shell carry a valid US VIN? Is it a clean title? Salvage?

Yes it carries a valid US Vin #, Clean Title, Non Salvage, and insured and registered in California.

<-- wishes I had $90,000 and a spray booth laying around to get rid of the red.

We would paint the car any color the new owner desires.

Also, we would have the new owner fly in and test the car at the race track, get their 9 second license if they already don't, and really show them the in's and out's of this 2 time national championship 18 time NHRA winning car!!

Thanks

Ali

How many fingers does it take for you to count all the subaru's that have run 9.0's in the NHRA, IDRC, Nopi, etc?

Here's the list. 16 people in the 9's in the world and only 1 other 9 second subie in the US....I guess ESX needs to step up their game they are doing everything wrong.....
