Default anyone here a service advisor/technician for a dealer service department.

I applied for one to work at until I can find an IT job. Do you guys/gals that do that make decent money? I have no idea what kind of pay they would get.

Thanks.

I worked as a carhop when I was in high school for a summer. Pulled cars in and out for the techs. I have alot of customer service experience. I did computer sales for a year, worked as a teller at a bank for two years. So I know how to deal with upset people (you don't get more upset then when your dealing with peoples money). And I know quite a bit about cars. But I have never done this particular job. They said they are willing to train the right individual.

I'm not saying all, but MOST dealers won't hire people without tech school, or a good bit of on the job experience...

Good luck though, it would be fun.

I think your thinking about the wrong job. This isn't a mechanic's job. Its just the service advisor. the one who tells you what the tech did, needs to do, makes the appointments and whatnot.

did you pull the mat out to do that? LOL

Yeah, the job title said service technician. One dealer called it service advisor. I wish they would pick a universal word for it. LOL
