I am not a hatchback Subaru fan, but this ride is super sleek, nice mods... if it came like that from the dealer I may be considering

Seems drone free. Not too loud. Need some more miles.

Oh yeah, 500-600 crank horsepower from the factory would be nice

ARK GRiP Exhaust Review (08+ STI and 11+ WRX Hatchback)

I just installed this system onto my car last night. Here are some photos and video. I will have more info up soon here:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2427954

And here's a quick video:

You can see that nearly all of the exhaust flows out of the passenger side at idle. But under load, exhaust does flow out of both sides (but probably not quite equally). The exhaust uses dual Helmholtz resonators and they really do seem to work. The exhaust is very quiet at idle and low RPM's but has a good tone at WOT. I will have more info up later.

I like the way the mufflers look at the low angle. Very cool. Sounds pretty good I won't get too attached to this exhaust since it will be up for sale soon. Lol

The alignment of the tips seems great! The EL headers + Catless DP paired with the ARK sounds very unique.

When you think about it, the design is allowing the air to flow out as a single 3" exhaust like the Ti-C did, based on how the pipe is designed. while the other side is added onto that pipe, not split into a Y like most. the forced Y is what probably what causes a restriction, where as this set up probably flows pretty close to a single 3" would. it looks weird having smoke only come out of one side, but the exhaust itself looks excellent. definitely improves the sound of the EL headers too. I hope you'll be keeping this exhaust for a while, lol.

Is the new exhaust louder than the Greddy? Because I plan on getting something new in the future to replace my Greddy Ti-C. I was looking @ crawford Gymkhana but.... that's just way too loud. Also how much did you pay for this if you don't mind me asking?

Yes it looks very cool. I think this one might last a while. It's the first 3" that my wife approves of. Lol.

The tip alignment is quite good. And the sound with the EL headers is very nice.

This is what I was thinking. It's not a single muffler so the flow out of one side doesn't seem like that big of a deal. It probably is kind of similar to the Greddy Ti-C in that regard.

It is way quieter than the Greddy. With the EL headers and all the other noises I have going on it really sounds similar to stock when cruising.

The immature me wants to say something but I think people can come up with their own ideas.

It pretty much sounds exactly to the T of my Q300, Tomei equal length setup. Aweosome. plus it looks the balls as well.

Good pickup

Maybe in a video with very basic audio, but in real life it definitely sounds nothing like the Q300. The Q300 is a lot louder. The ARK honestly is pretty much like stock sound levels when cruising around. There really is no drone at all.

Yeah, just in the video, it sounds just like my video but I'm sure driving is different. Did you hear the Q300 with your ELH's? or just your Greddy?

There really is no comparison at all. The Q300 drones soooo much more. This really sounds like stock around town.

So what would your advice be out of all the turboback setups you have had, which combo gave you the least drone on the highway, near perfect/OEM fitment, and sounds great while giving you that stage 2 setup?

The Invidia DP is all you really need for stage 2. Cat backs don't gain you anything but noise. I like the sound of the SPT but this ARK is nice too. The Greddy was great if you like it a little louder.

Well I pretty much think the way you do, I want a 3" setup but I don't want the added noise/attention. So this sounds like the perfect setup. However I'm still stage 2 so I'll hold off till power levels get much higher before touching the catback. I think Invidia EL headers, GS up-pipe and EBCS/MBC hybrid setup will be next.
