Got pulled over coming out of a new development (wife and I were house shopping.) This cops sees us doing so and immediately pulls me over, tells me to get out of the car and searches my pockets and asks me when was the last time I smoked weed. Yes, he said weed. Handcuffs me to the brush guard on his car and goes over to the other side of the car, pulls my wife out (who is OBVIOUSLY pregnant at the time) and asks her the same thing. Then searches my car. I asked him what the hell was going on, as he refused to give me a reason for pulling me over. I told him to call my mom, who is a police investigator for the county (he was a city cop). He gets on the radio with his Lt. Doesn't ever mention why I was pulled over, just told him he pulled me over and searched me for weed, mentioned the thing about my mom being an investigator, and I guess things got lost in translation that I had never done anything wrong and this whole situation was illegal, and his Lt. responded back with "We can't show favoritism because his mom's a cop, bring him in!" He gave the keys to my wife, after running her license, and took me to jail. Ladies and Gentlemen, I legitimately went to jail for nothing that day. Not charged with anything, not served with any citations, warnings or otherwise. Went to jail for nothing, and spent about 4hrs there before they sorted everything out. The icing on the cake - I got a phone call the next day. It was the police captain calling to apologize - and get this - to notify me that "all charges have been dropped." I was in Iraq a month later, and never got around to following up with any legal action, but to this day just telling that story makes my blood pressure rise.

Wow man, what a horrible experience. Seems like the captain called in hopes that you wouldn't sue the **** out of the cop. How long ago was it? Doesn't hurt to try. |

That was back in 2006 in my hometown in Georgia. I had to be at Ft Drum, NY two days later to head to Iraq shortly thereafter. Later came home to a 15 month old kid, wife got pregnant again and it kept dropping down the priority list until I eventually gave up on it. One of the main things that helped me move past it was the fact that my mom found out the cop got sent home without pay for a while and the Lt. got a major ass-chewing as well. I've never been a fan of over-litigiousness but for a while there I fully intended to get rich off of that incident. |

I thought mine was bad... I guess it can always be worse. What ever happened to serve and protect?

I've had some cops be jerks, but those are way over the line. I am usually a mind my own business/I probably deserved it/I'm the bigger man type, but I would have done something about that for sure...

I went spent a night in a hotel for new years eve with the gf and i rolled up to the valet asking where parking was... Me: Hey man, wheres parking? Valet: I can take it for you. Me: Where did you say parking was? Valet: Its across the street in the parking garage. I'll take care of it. Me: Thanks ( I drive off ) You know you drive a wrx/sti (or a spec b in my case) when... You roll your windows down when its 10 degrees outside to hear your car echo in a tunnel |

I have my windows at least partially down at all times except when it's raining, gotta hear the rumble. I got stuck at my fiancées Christmas party where it was valet only. At least they only drove it about 20ft. I tried to get out of it but it wasn't possible, the restaurant was up on this huge hill and their was literally no parking for half a mile, lol. I still gave her crap about it though.

You know you drive a 5spd WRX when you can't shift in first above 5mph when it's 40 degrees or below out? Any tips for this?

I found that if you shift into 2nd first (initially), then into 1st, it is much easier to get in gear.

You know you drive a WRX when:
1- You can hear and spot a boxer engine miles away 2- You can tell the difference between a WRX and an STI, because you have thought of the conversion a million times and you know all the differences 3- Spend a LOT of money on fuel, but still think that it's a good investment of money 4- You take your preferred road and cannot explain to accompanying passengers why you took that road instead of the shorter one 5- Your GF asks you to choose between her and your WRX, and you actually find that a difficult question 6- You know that the BOV is bad for your engine and that the stock BPV will give you more horsepower and will make your ride smoother, but you still go with the BOV because it's damn sexy. And a subaru was born to do the vooooooom pshhhh 7- You cannot understand why the police would pull you over because your exhaust is too loud, and wouldn't pull over a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, I mean come on, we are both supercars! (at least in our perspective!) 8- You are afraid of racing other subarus because you know the potential for WRX tuning 9- You spot a sports car and you time your BOV to vent right when you pass next to them 10- You love nature, but still remove the catalysers 11- You love snow! |

When 12-point wrenches/sockets are just about useless.
I just have an older impreza, but any of you wrx/sti owners that have done suspension work will understand. |

When you have a nightmare about crashing your car and wake up and realize it was a dream then go for a drive.

You drive the speed limit through the streets.....and turns...
Your playing cod and hear what sounds like a subAru driving by so you jet up to your window to see what it is, then realize its your brother playin gran turismo and as you walk back to your game you watch yourself on the killcam for the final kill (by knife) standing still staring back at your opponent.. And you hear everyone on the mic beeshing you out and they kick you from the game... Not that it ever happened to me... |
