I had a Defi boost guage and a Vapor helmet mounted display. Both were fun, the Defi worked better.
That's all I got. |

I don't think the aftermarket has acceptable housing plans.

My buddy had the Defi in his Evo.
It was neat, but not as functional as the system in the C6 Vettes (only other system I've ever seen or used). His showed RPM and Speed. Not sure if it had a shift indicator as well...its been some time since I saw it. |

The first segment in this video shows some iPhone apps relating to cars. At 3:40 they talk about a HUD that can be displayed from the iPhone.

It looks.. nice I suppose. Then again there's something distinctively dumb about having a pretty touch screen MP3/gps enabled smartphone on its back and out of reach on the top of your dash |

I so far have confirmed compatibility with the Subaru VSS. I hope to obtain a second gauge cluster wiring harness to tap in for the HUDs additional indicators. I haven't taken the next big step of cutting the dash for the install. I have a second, junk, dash specifically to test fitment and mounting ideas so that I don't have to do it blindly in the car. I will be testing available depth soon when I swap in my STi gauge cluster. |
