It's for real, but it looks to me like a standard GT2835 and not an HKS version. If memory serves me, the HKS GT2835 was a twinscroll turbo. This is not that.

It's a hybrid with Mitsu exhaust housing but genuine Garret comp cover.

this is a lame question yes i know! but what year did the vf48 come in ? im considering a vf43 in my 2002 wrx but was looking at the vf48 now which 1 would you guys consider me getting with of course the supporting fuel mods and tune lol and yea so what year is this vf48 found in?

The VF48 is the 08+ STI turbo.

what would some one suggest me doing either the vf43 or vf48 into my 02 wrx? trying to gigure out which one i should buy!

Whichever you can find for less money. They're close enough to be identical in performance. The 08's (VF48) spool a little sooner, but that could be attributed to the exhaust valve timing the 07 and earlier didn't have. You'd be fine with either, or a VF39.

yea ive been leaning toward the vf43 but now the vf48 is sounding pretty good as well....this is going to give me some more thoughts i see in which route i want to go.

Who ports an polishes turbos? Anyone PP a stock WRX turbo ? How much does that improve lag? Looking to stay leagal in AUTOX
