There is a way of presenting barebones without looking cheap, and I'm not sure that many have figured out how to do that yet.
you're right about the gearing, it's a popular mod to change the Final Drive ratio to 3.33, 3.55, 3.73, etc.
as for the interior, it's definitely the dodge parts bin treatment, http://www.venzanoviper.com/ does some nice custom interior work, checkout their gallery.

As far as I can tell, they don't really do too much custom work outside of basically repainting the interior pieces and re-upholstering the seats. I thought it would be a bit more customization that actually upgrades it as opposed to just sprucing it up with color.

GTS is definitely the best looking car Chrysler/Dodge/MOPAR/whateverotherbrandthatcompanyownedorowns ever.

The gearing definitely doesn't suit many people's needs (ie. roadcourse drivers). But I really enjoyed it, there wasn't a lot of wheel spin in first, rarely any in second, for highway it would net near 30mpg, and when doing pulls against other cars with more power, the gearing would save the Viper and let it sit next to/stay ahead of cars with 50-100whp more, mostly because they would have to shift so often (aerodynamics played a decent part in it too).

Interior. . . we've done this too many times.

The other cool thing that genII cars can do

LOL, thanks for responding I was killing myself trying to figure out what the big deal was about someone painting a poorly reversed image of the Viper logo on a faded hood

I couldn't tell it was frost. Even after I read your response I was thinking...wait its upside down, then I remembered the hoods on the previous Vipers opened from the rear...brain just isn't working like it used to

Meh, go '96-'99 GenII GTS or high mileage GENIV. GenIII has the weakest engine and holds value the worst of any Viper.

They can call it SRT instead of Dodge. Then they can sell them out of hole in the wall art studios instead of car dealerships. Its got win written all over it.

So....one of the Malaysian factory workers stole some not yet to market hot wheels and is posting them on ebay already?

I will admit, it is pretty cool how companies like hot wheels and whoever makes Forza and such get to see these cars ahead of time to make computer and toy models and release them when the real car is released.

just like it's not a "dodge" RAM anymore, even though everyone (including the dealers) still refer to it as a dodge truck.
