Default Previous Owner's boost gauge install?

Hey guys,

Is this for a boost gauge? It was installed by the previous owner and there is no gauge, so I'm trying to figure this out. The cable is zip tied onto the other cables and goes in through the firewall towards the top.

I traced it inside but it goes up past the fuse box and then I lose it; there is a hole in the button next to the cruise control so I figure he had it going through there before. If so I'm guessing it was mounted on the pillar.

Reason I'm asking is because I hear the turbo spool and the BOV vents at higher rpm's, yet I don't feel the boost and the car is really weak. This is my first step t o diagnose the problem because I need to get a gauge on anyways to check how much boost I am getting.

Excuse my newbiness, If I missed something and more info is required just let me know.

Probably for a gauge. If you aren't going to use one right now, unplug it from the t-fitting, and cap off the fitting.

Yep, that's the plan for now until I can get a gauge in there. Any idea where I can get a cap for it, Or what the term I can use to look for it would be? Thanks for your help.

Autozone. Put a cap right on the T and use a zip tie or clamp.

That would be after the pill if there is one. Not a good install. Remove the t and install a new hose.

That leads me to my next question, how does the pill work and what does it look like? I know that you can't boost over 7 psi without it but that's all I've figured out on my own, can someone elaborate?

The pill is like a tiny ball bearing with a precision drilled hole through it.

FYI, auto zone sells the caps, but I would replace the T with a straight through piece. (They sell those also) That way it's one less place for boost to leak.

The pill is in the line between the compressor and the wastegate actuator. Its hard to see visually, if you squeze the line you can feel it.
