There's new options to top UK now, including Gliss (1yr), SiC (2yrs+), Elixir is probably a better quick detailer than Bead Maker at least on top of UK.
They're good options for wheels too to make wheel cleaning easier.
Adam’s wheel and tire cleaner works great.
Except is killing my grass. I need to find an alternative
My buddy noticed the same issue with his grass using Adam's. We'll be installing the new see of tires from 4Wheelonline and I'm gonna tip him about Sonax.
i have been using chemical guys apc for the tires and the diablo wheel cleaner for my wrx and my truck . and i beat the hell out of my truck in the mud.
I use Adams and I have to be really cautious about washing the wheels no where near grass, but the Brake Buster sounds like a really good alternative. Has anyone else used both of the products and can give a comparison for cleaning ability between the two? Thanks for any info.
Recently used Chemical Guys Wheel and Tire cleaner after taking my WRX to the track. It made easy work of the brake dust. Afterwards I used Adam's Iron Decon to confirm how well it worked and the only spots that had some brake dust left were the small space in between the lug nuts and on the rotor itself.
Sonax Full Effect or Wheel Cleaner Plus. PH Neutral works on all wheel finishes, needs no heavy duty scrubbing. I 've been using it for 5+ years both personally and at my last job where we did a lot of high end fully forged wheels (HRE, Vossen Forged, ADV1, ANARKY, etc).
Depending on how bad the contamination is on the wheel, I sometimes just need to spray it on, let it sit and rinse off. If it's bad (like after a track day or it's been a few weeks since last time cleaning), they sometimes need a bit of light agitation. It makes like a million time easier when you have wheels that are tighter spokes like my NT03's.
P&S brake buster is very good, just dont leave it on for too long or itll ruin your wheels, do it one at a time and maybe leave it on for 30 seconds or so.
Soap and water and a dedicated microfiber. Use a wheel brush if there is any stubborn brake dust. Use something like Griots wheel cleaner if you need something stronger. Wax after cleaning.
Always start off with the least harsh methods. And of course never use Simple Green, Purple Power, etc. or anything abrasive.
Detailer here. Brake buster isnt too bad but it doesnt really have a good dwell time for dirtier wheels. If youre on a budget its not too bad you might have to go over the wheel an extra time. Personally i would just use p&s iron remover instead. That said if you dont mind spending a little bit more money id say go with Gtechniqs or Gyeons wheel cleaners
I'm using Adam's Polishes Wheel & Tire Cleaner. Cannot believe the amount gunk that comes off the tires! Amazon sometimes has deals on the gallon size.
