OEM turbo gauge install
Has anyone done this themselves?
I am thinking of just using some of my subaru bucks to buy an oem turbo gauge and install it myself. I would like to know the degree of difficulty in installing this. I already read the instructions and it doesn't look hard. I just wanna hear it from the other members who have done this. by the way, when's the next install day?

i hope you mean boost gauge, but it's not hard, and , if you can think of something else to buy with the subaru bucks, then do so and buy a different boost gauge

I had the oem boost gauge on my wrx. I like the way it mounts on the steering wheel column. I didn't like the mPa reading, but I got used to it through time. However, for the STi, the green backlight of the oem gauge doesn't match the STi's gauges.
If I can find an aftermarket boost gauge that mounts the same way as the oem, then it'll be perfect. But for now, I think I'm gonna go ahead and install the oem one. |

i have an oem gauge for sale. if you have the column cover with no holes, i will trade you that and some money, not much, for it. i have a friend who did bulb condoms to match the factory gauges on his sti. i'll see what covers he used.

So is the gauge still mounted on the cover that you have?
Also, do you know if the 2004 WRX column cover matches with the '05 STi? |

Silverspool, that looks good and bigger than the oem one.
I don't like it white though. If you don't mind, please post a link to where I can find that thing. Maybe they make one in black? |

Uhhh, that gauge pod doesn't look good to me. It looks like crud.
I would buy a used OEM gauge, pull the lamco gauge out, and put in an omori gauge. I've done it. It looks great, it matches the main cluster, and it reads in psi instead of mpa. |

i would just get an aftermarket one that is close in apperance. it will be much cheaper. you can buy the little mounting pods for cheap as well. save your subaru bucks for a new motor or tranny.
