Honestly, if you're going mainly for looks, I wouldn't bother.

You mean do you need to upgrade, or do you need them at all? The answer to both is no. They are nice to have though.

You already have sways (if you didn't know that) You don't HAVE to, but getting sway bars that are larger in diameter than stock will greatly increase your handling and responsiveness. When upgrading sways, you should upgrade your endlinks as well. Ungraded sway mounts are also recommended but not ABSOLUTELY needed.
To answer your question, no you don't need to upgrade for the springs to work. That's what it sounded like you were asking. A good read: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171928 |

How will you be using your car? Mostly everyday commute? Auto-x? Track days? We can't answer your question without this information.

Its everyday commute... i mean there are times where i do take corners at about 65-70 and the car sticks to the road fine, even though the tires are garbage (RE92)... But thats something i don't do everyday... No auto-x but i was planning on taking my car to the Tracks this summer since i've never done it before, but thats just a straight road.

They're not that expensive and if you really like to drive the cars then I would definitely upgrade the sway bars. It makes a vast difference on the car if you do upgrade.
But, if you're going for looks only no need to do it at all. They are not needed by any means just to lower the car. |

If you are getting springs then the FIRST thing you'll need after you purchase them are new struts to properly take advantage of the spring rates and length of the new springs. Swaybars will definitely help with cornering (go with as large as possible in the front = GREAT turn in, and a medium to large one in the rear = keeps the rear planted) but they will not handle everything... Your stock struts will probably work fine for a while, but they will wear out alot quicker with higher spring rate springs. Granted, getting larger swaybars should help the stock struts from wearing out as much by controlling the spring movement slightly but really that is kinda a "side affect"... Start planning ahead for struts... Koni Yellows are AWESOME... Ohlins are expensive but also AWESOME...
Hope that helps out alittle ~ Chris |
