Default Using Tactrix Cable for OBD2 Scanning...

What programs do you guys use to pull/reset codes with Tactrix cables? I can datalog & reflash with ECUFlash or Enginuity, but no matter what OBD2 programs I try (Including Scantech 0.77), I cant get it to connect...

you just want to see the code or you want to shut it off?
engiunity will let you do both, but i belive you have to reflash the ecu with the error code turned off if you want to get rid of it that way.

ECUexplorer is best for pulling tripped cel codes. and yes enginuity can disable any cel, and does require a reflash.

You have to be careful using Ecuexplorer as if your particular ecu's CEL mapping isn't specifically defined by Ecuexplorer then it will show the incorrect codes. Only a true obdii scanner can be relied upon to give you the correct code in all cases. There's a freeware one that the Evo guys use that supports the tactrix cable ( somewhere on www.activematrix.com ), but I could not get it to work on my 02 wrx. Ecuedit (shareware) supposedly supports obdii but I'm not sure how well it works for Subarus.

I could never get ECUExplorer working correctly for anything...

I use Enginuity to disable CEL's, but I just want one to read & turn off CEL's... I'm tempted to buy a hand scanner... A buddy has a TINY ASS matco one that is only $70.

Ecuexplorer is flaky for reading codes. I use a real, standalone code reader because I know it is just standard OBD2 and it works correctly every time.
