Default 555 Motorsports & DS1 Motorsports Present -06 STi TWINSCROLL POWER!!!

I am very happy to make this post after quite sometime we finally got Lou's twin-scroll monster on the dyno. It's an 06 STi with basic bolt-ons including a JDM-Twinscroll turbo (VF37) and the Tomei twin-scroll header.

Modlist

-Spearco TMIC
-Nismo 785cc Injectors
-SPT Short Ram intake
-JIC Titanium CBE, with custom JDM flanged Downpipe
-VF37 Twinscroll Turbo
-Tomei Header

This car made amazing tq for a VF-series turbo on a MUSTANG Dyno

It made 353 WTQ and 287 WHP. I will have a before vs after for with and without the TOMEI header.

353 WTQ on a mustang dyno is crazy, this is a dyno that reads roughly 360 WHP on a GT35r on pump gas.

what's spool on the street? As the dyno sheet doesn't make it look very impressive.

On this dyno, a 2.5L WRX will put down 165whp stock. It defines the term 'heartbreaker'. Definitely a very humbling, but very accurate dyno. I've seen that 35R graph, a healthy GT30 Evo's, an SR56, a few STi's....definitely a very low reading dyno. We figured it out, roughly 14% percent lower than a Dynojet.

263/296 vs. 287/353?! It is pretty crazy. I'm trying to talk Lew into going to a Dynojet with me, because if my reasoning doesn't fail me, that's around 400ish ft/lbs of torque, by the more conventional Dynojet measure.

The car is wicked...it's seriously like a V8, in the amount of torque and lightning fast power delivery. First time I rode in it, I think my neck hurt for a few days afterwards. I'm jealous.

Lou's car is amazing. Not only does it make nice power, but it's honestly instant power.

You've mis-understood me. I'm not knocking his numbers. Just wondering what it spools like on the street. The extra graph only shows me just how close it is to a vf39 as far as when they reach 300wtq. I guess i was just expecting it to be more than 100rpm difference.

From what I've seen, it spools around 2700 on the street.

It's hard to judge spool by a dyno graph, and even harder to compare from Mustang dynos across to Dynojets. The Mustang shows peak torque later than full boost most of the time, so I'd imagine it's not the best depiction. Now if we could get some logs up (ahem, Matt ), it'd be a bit easier.

JIC Titanium CBE, with custom JDM flanged Downpipe

What do you mean by this? You had to re-flange the dp to make it fit?

the downpipe to turbo flange had to be converted over to a JDM DP flange. The twin-scroll turbos use a different flange for the downpipe.

Do you think it's the twin scroll thats giving it so much more tq or the turbo design itself?

Also what if you added more fuel and boost? from the log look's fairly safe.

Wish you guys had a video...Lew's car sounds like an animal! It's like Jekyll and Hyde...quiet and stealthy at idle and it wakes up big time once he's in it. Sick car all around.

oh ok! Sorry I thought you meant the downpipe to midpipe. I got scared because I thought jdm dp meant you had to modify the length to reach or something. Only reason I asked is that I am picking up a jic full ti and hoped it worked with my UR downpipe.

Nice setup.

Subscribed for post-dyno street logs!

I'd have to do something about that top end

Not a fan of torque spikes, but to each his own.

Yeah, that top end is so horrible for an IWG VF setup.
