This build is off the eFFn chain!!! Im building a Ver5 Type-R at the moment but its all going into a 95L sedan so I guess u could say I'm building a RA. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out what turbo I'm going with, and was hoping you could help me out. I'm using the Ver5 Type-R ej207dw1pr, Apexi PFC (**EDIT**LINK G4 PLUG N PLAY), bottom end will be built, possible built heads + PnP, stock TMIC at the moment, trying to find a Bigger ver7-9 STi TMIC & I also have a Brand new FMIC w/o piping, 3" V-band TBE, (***EDIT*** no MAF, Tuned for Speed Density), walbro 255lph, 1000cc Dynamic Inj, .... This is all in the making BTW, nothing set in stone yet. I had in mind either the Blouch Dom 2.5XTR, GTX3071R, or the GT3076R.(***EDIT***GTX3071R). if u have any input or advice u can share with me, I would appreciate it a lot bro! My set goal is 400-450whp. No higher than that .

Big thank you to Chevron for finally making my car the way it should have been from the outset, correcting lots of issues that I did not know were even there! Now the actual reason the car was there was to have a full geo setup and I can happily say handling, grip and all around balance of the car is amazing, knew there would be a difference but did not expect it to feel like a different car the biggest change is the turn in, it is super sharp as it responds to the slightest input and changes direction instantly. May even do TOTB saturday now lol |

If its a stock location turbo then I would not bother as they seem to be laggy for the numbers they make, I would defo go for the blouch over it

I know the Ver5/6 ej207 are outdated engines, but I think they are still worthy of a respectable build, and it would be nice if the ppl who feel the same way would post their build results. I know I will try to post all my info to help the next GC8'er that comes along! Last edited by WelDun1; 11-03-2013 at 10:41 PM. |

What up Banny. So I'm trying to pick out my Cams right now, and thought id see what your opinion is on Low Duration High Lift. I'm thinking about running the Kelford-J cams which are a Rally/Time Attack Cam @ 264/260 10.90/10.45 LSA110/112 8500rpms.

Haha.. It looks like I'm buggin the hell outta you when you read this last page. Sorry man, but ur the only guy I've seen on these forums that has built a GC8, and better yet..built a GC8 engine. Most ppl with built GC8's on here have swapped out the original engine for a Ver7-9.
Anyways, one last question, I think... I'm at the fuel delivery stage of my build right now, and wanted to know what Injectors you thought would be good for my build. Rotated gtx3071r. I'm thinking about going with the DW850cc side feeds. They will drop right in won't they? At first I wanted ID1000cc but I didn't know I had to do a huge top feed conversion, so I'm going with side feed. 850cc should Definitely be enough for a 400awhp build right? I here a lot of ppl say that the 740's will be plenty' but I want to make sure I leave room for Improvement, not to mention run at a lower duty cycle. So basically my main question is, "will the DeatschWerks 850cc side feeds drop right into a Ver5 STi?" Thanks Banny! Sorry for the Novel sized comments. I'm just super stoked for this build. |
