Well it's sort of a trial and error thing. I just started mocking and cutting plastic until I ended up with something. Pm replied.

Ahh get out of here... I was just looking for something like this*for a suby. Always been a fan of the NISMO 'wheel arch covers' for the R34 GTR (and R34 GTR Z-tune)

Way to be creative!

Can we get an actual, formal, complete DIY write up for this? The OP's first post was half assed, just like the link he posted. The pics are great but still doesnt illustrate how much cutting, drilling, etc. is involved. In other words, there need to be more details then what is up now. I tried to do this today and I went on to something else because I didnt feel i had the right tools. I also didnt know how the top of the arch on the flare attaches to the car fender. Double sided tape..yea..but that truely will not work. I tried it today. I dont want to ruin my flares and throw 65 bucks down the drain. So can someone do a DIY write up that has pics, step by step and a list of tools and hardware needed? Ive never done anything like this before. I need details. Write it like you are writing this so your 5 year old niece could do this. We need more details then just a few pics and "just get creative" remarks. I appreciate Jimbo is willing to help. But i dont think he wants me contacting him late at night when its evening time where I am. I am just being considerate. Im not trying to be a d-bag about this, it has just been a very long day for me.

Then I think you need to take a deep breath and rewrite your post.

The tools I used: drill and bits, hobby knife or razor blade, zip ties.
First I jacked up the car and removed the wheels.

I cut the lower part of the inside lip on each corner so that the bottoms of the flares sit flat against the body. I left a small triangular flap on each corner.

I lined up the flare with the fender and drilled each corner through the flare and the fender. I started by putting a screw in one side, then stretched the flare across and put a screw in the other side. I drilled a couple of additional holes about 3/4 of the way up on each side and ran a zip tie through that. There is nothing at the very top of the flare, it's not necessary.

Same process for the rear, except once the flare is mounted I went back and trimmed the excess plastic inside the door jamb. Just kept trimming until the rear doors opened and closed smoothly without dragging or catching on the flares.

There's no real how- to or DIY on this. I stumbled along and figured it out as I went. At first I did feel frustrated and thought it couldn't be done. I ended up doing the front on one day and the rears the following day.

BAMM!

Thanks to GrimmSpeed for the paint which matches perfectly. Since the flares are a bit stretched I was afraid the paint would crack so I painted them on the car. Mineral spirits, adhesion promoter, primer, and paint. I'm admittedly not the best spray painter so I do have a couple of runs and minor splotches I plan to wetsand and buff out after the paint cures. One step closer to being ready for the South Florida subie cruise next month.

Can you post up a before and after? I'd like to see how much more they stick out assuming you haven't added wheel spacers.

Let me just say...

That looks unbelievable

Thanks a lot! Haven't added any spacers, my wheels have a +35 offset.

Here's a before head-on

And this is after

They extend about an inch and a half from the fender. They would look terrible with stock wheels.

Damn that looks sick! Maybe this can be an alternative for wagon fans to be running 9.5" wheels

But im guessing when you have to take off your front bumper you have to remove the front flares?

Well yes I would have to remove one screw and one zip tie to remove the bumper. Could be worse, Karltons are usually held on with rivets.

Looks great paint matched. I think it flows really good with the car. It doesn't look tacky, it actually looks oem. Congrats !!!
