WRX and Trade-In
Hi all,
I'm seriously thinking about getting a WRX, but I just bought a MY01 RS sedan. Does anyone know what I could expect to get in trade for a MY01 RS, with about 4000-5000 miles on it (in perfect condition)? Also, I know that the WRX is around 24k, but what do the options cost? I definitely want the rear wing and probably the larger rims. |

Doug,
I would imagine you would be lucky to be offered $14,500 on a trade. I just sold my 2000 RS for $17,500. It was still a money loser as this was a nice car loaded with factory leather and only 7400 miles. It was still better than a trade though as I think I probably would have only been offered 13-14k as a trade. You still have time before the WRX arrives to sell your car. I would definitely put a little effort into this mainly since you are in Colorado and it should be fairly easy to sell your car and get decent money. My advice: detail it real good and park it somewhere where a lot of people will see it. I sold mine in less than a week. Punk |

You'll find out those of us who bought a MY00-01 would be getting the shaft when it comes to trade in. A RS paid $22,000 alittle while ago is now worth $16,000(if that) on trade in.

Sounds like selling will be the way to go. What's a good asking price? It's MY01, silverthorn metallic, leather interior, full sound package, security system, and the extended arm rest. I'm also in CO (as you noticed) and LOTS of people here buy scoobies.

you could probably get almost 18000 for it. If you can find a buyer. THey are out there, and you should be able to get that, just dont rely on it too heavily. Start looking now, and then you might have a buyer when you are ready to sell...
