Cusco Engine/Tranny Mount Combo - 02+ WRX / 04+ STi
-By reducing flex found in the stock mounts, these mounts will dramatically decrease engine and tranny movement.
$SOLD!!!

Cusco Shifter Bushings - 02+ WRX / 04+ STi
-The Cusco Shifter Bushing is designed to replace the soft rubber bushing found at the anchor point of your shifter assembly. This upgraded bushing greatly improves the feel of the shifter by eliminating that spongy feel you get when changing gears.

Since they closed the other thread. On Cusco Engine/Tranny mounts, since the STi Group N mounts work on the '05 LGT then the Cusco mounts should work correct? How is the NVT with them installed? Since this is a daily driver I dont want a mount that is too aggressive. Let me know. Thanks!!

Also, what about clutch/flywheel options for the 2005 Legacy GT?? Let me know if you can help me out.

Hey Matt,

I assume that the Cusco mount will work for the LGT. A customer of our's (Dre) just bought a set for his car so it looks like we'll know shortly. These mounts are very stiff; noticeably stiffer than the Group N mounts. They will actually cause your car to shake when you fire up the motor. What's NVT? I'm not sure what clutches are currently offered for your car right now but if you're able to find a clutch or PN for a clutch made by Exedy or ACT then I will get you pricing.

Thanks,

Geoff

Is there a difference between the USDM 6 spd and jdm 6 spd? I would assume the usdm would be stonger to handle the extra torque, is that correct? The team in puerto rico got up to 720 ft*lbs on their usdm tranny and I thought the jdm 6 spds were only good to ~350 ft*lbs.
I emailed gary with a list of questions, but he never got back to me. IIRC they were:

1) how much for a usdm 6 spd
2) different options for dccd and prices
3) differences in usdm/jdm r180

thanks
ron

Hey Ron,

The main difference between the two is that the USDM 6spds are all DCCD and not all of the JDM ones are. Also, the US ones have a taller 4th and 5th gear for better gas mileage (and worse acceleration). I'm fairly certain the USDM 6spd doesn't have stronger gears than the JDM counterpart. However, the DCCD center diff has been said to be not as strong as the non-DCCD unit. Our last 6spd just sold for $3000. As far as we know, there are no difference between the US and Japanese R180s.

Thanks,

Geoff

Do you have any customers or shop cars that have take the JDM 6 spd to around 500 ft*lbs?
I put down 350 whp and 320 ft*lbs on the ESX dyno on a 91 tune and I recently bought some v7 sti heads, v7 intake mani w/ tgv deletes, and larger injectors and I plan to do a c16 tune so I should be up ~450 ft*lbs and I need a tranny that will live up there and not break.
Is there any way you can verify the differences bewteen the usdm/jdm 6 spds? Just seems like the usdm would have to be stronger to deal with the extra displacement/torque. Unless the jdm ones were already so overbuilt that it was fine.

Thanks
Ron

Hey Ron,

Our tuner, Mike, puts down 467WHP and a similar amount of torque on our Mustang 4WD dyno. This equates to about 625HP and TQ at the crank. He has a JDM 6spd on his car and it has witheld multiple 11.0 second drag passes with no ill effects. This tranny will get the job done. The JDM 6spds are practically the same as the USDM units so they too have been substantially overengineered.

Thanks,

Geoff
