How do you plan to put your defi egt probe in the factory style bung?

The bung is a 12x1.25mm straight tap with a tapered seat. Your egt probe probably requires a tapered thread (prolly npt or bspt) hole.

If you want to do away with the factory EGT probe, replace it with a 2.2Kohm resistor.

So is it safe to say to spend a little more and get an up-pipe without the EGT bung [ie: Perrin]?

EGT readings from the uppipe won't be as accurate as those in the headers or manifold. I suggest leaving factory uppipe egt bung there and tapping another spot for your gauge. Much easier access than the uppipe too in case you've got some problems.

I have to do mine like next week......so its safe to say that the manifold should be tapped??

Also, are you all pulling the manifold completely off in order to tap it....just to make sure filings dont get into the turbo?

If you're going to get an uppipe as well, wait until you get it. As long as you have to take the manifold off to drill and tap it (and yes, you DO want to take it off), you might as well do the uppipe as well!
