FS/FT : 1988 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 for WHEELS
I am selling my other ride, in hopes of purchasing some wheels for the Subaru.
Asking $1000. I have the title. Can negotiate for more if you want the stereo system in it. PM for details. I would also entertain trades for wheels that would fit a Wagon. Its an 88 Ranger XLT Extended Cab 4x4 V6. It has a 5 speed, with new clutch. Clutch master and slave cylinders are both new, along with the hydraulic line. It has new pads on the front brakes, but needs rotors. I bought rotors, but when we tried to install them we were too lazy to go get the hub nut tool, so we just did pads. The rotors will come with the truck. It has ICE COLD R12 A/C, and the heater works great. Has all the power options. Hell, even the cruise control works. It has a block heater. It starts up every time, and has great oil pressure. The motor seems to be in good shape. No abnormal noises or loud clicking. I wont lie, its seen dirt/mud. It has its fair share of simple (yet retarded) issues. Here are the known problems... 1.) Has a stutter sometimes. The stutter is fixed by just clicking the ignition on and off. No one has been able to locate it. I have been able to drive it for a day or two without issue by jiggling the harness the o2 wire is hooked to. I think the o2 is shorting out. The o2 is newer. It was replaced about 6 months ago along with numerous other sensors and electronic devices including the ECU. It may be a vacuum leak, but I havent really checked any of them. 2.) Auto hubs are toast. They were clicking pretty bad when I got the truck, now they dont engage at all. The transfer case works great (ohh yeah, its push button 4x4). It will go into 4HI and 4LOW no problem. Manual hub conversion is less than $200. You can get auto hubs for cheaper than that, but manual is the way to go. 3.) No muffler. I think the exhaust just kinda ends under the bed. If you register it in a county with emissions, that will have to be fixed. Its currently registered in Tooele, so that was never an issue. 4.) Interior isnt the cleanest. Its not the worst though either. The carpet is pretty dirty, but hey... its a work truck. No radio is in the truck. It does have some Sony 5.25" speakers in the front. The driver side seat is also busted. I currently have a speaker box in there right now that holds the seat perfect, but I plan on taking it out. It IS drivable broken, it just kind of sags a bit. I'm a bigger guy, so I wanted the support so I could lay back. 5.) Body has some knicks and dings. But hell, its 18 years old. 6.) Tires still have some tread, but I wouldnt call it a lot. Here are some pictures. Sadly, they are the only ones I have of it. This weekend I plan on cleaning it up again and getting some newer pictures. If you are interested, you can PM me here or email me at [email protected] Thanks.

Not sure.
I was working on it yesterday. The first cat had exploded and clogged the 2nd cat. Hacked the exhaust off and now it has a 4" exhaust off a cummins on it. It is loud as ****. The stutter is still there, and im not entirely sure what is causing it. I pulled the codes, and it pulled an o2 code. The o2 sensor is new though. It really want all that happy yesterday when I was driving it. It starts dumping in ****loads of fuel and runs like ass for a minute... then returns to normal. |

Kinda gonna bump this up a bit.
Looking to maybe trade for some wheels/tires. I am eyeballing some Rota Boosts in gold. That or some V7s. My friend has been driving it for a month. Aside from locking the keys in it, seems to still be running strong. |
